摘要： A multifunctional display apparatus is provided by including a tuner, a network interface, a display, a power supply, a wireless input interface, a storage device, and a controller. The controller may determine whether software stored in the storage device is to be updated. The controller may provide the display apparatus in an update mode in response to the display apparatus receiving a turn-off request and the controller determines that the software is to be updated. In the update mode, the display apparatus receives updated software and power to the display is OFF, and the controller provides the display apparatus in a turn-off mode after completing the update mode. In the turn-off mode, power to additional components of the display apparatus is OFF.

According to an embodiment, the invention provides a light generating device comprising: a first layer; a plurality of light source devices disposed on the first layer and configured to emit light, at least one of the light source devices including a light emitting diode for generating the light; a reflection layer disposed on the first layer and configured to reflect the light emitted from the light source devices; a second layer covering the light source devices and the reflection layer and configured to propagate the light reflected by the reflection layer, the second layer including a plurality of depressed portions, at least one of the depressed portions disposed between two adjacent light source devices among the plurality of light source devices; and at least one third layer disposed on the second layer and configured to diffuse the light propagated by the second layer.

The backlight includes optical sheets that are configured to be mounted to the cover using a plurality of holes provided on the optical sheet that material to corresponding protrusions provided on the cover. The holes and protrusions are configured to reduce damage or misalignment to the optical sheet that may be caused by heat generated inside the liquid crystal display.
