    摘要: A battery module has a plurality of batteries, each having an electrode assembly mounted in a battery case including a metal layer and a resin layer, as unit cells, are stacked one on another in the thickness direction, wherein the battery module is constructed such that electrode leads of each unit cell are bent and placed on an upper-end sealing part of each unit cell, through-holes for mechanical coupling and electrical connection are formed in the electrode leads and the sealing part such that the through-holes of the electrode leads communicate with the corresponding through-holes of the sealing part, respectively, and conductive coupling members are inserted through the through-holes of the unit cells. The battery module accomplished a maximum reduction in volume, increasing sealability of the sealing part, and easily accomplishing the electrical connection and the mechanical coupling between components.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a battery module including two battery cells, each of which has electrode terminals formed at upper and lower ends thereof. The battery module further includes a frame member, to which upper-end sealing parts, lower-end sealing parts, and one-side sealing parts of the battery cells are mounted, a metal sheathing member for covering the outer surfaces of the battery cells while the battery cells are mounted to the frame member, and caps (an upper-end cap and a lower-end cap) mounted to the upper and lower ends of the battery cells, respectively, which are covered by the metal sheathing member. According to the present invention, it is possible to minimize the weight and the size of the battery module while increasing the strength of the battery cells. Also, it is possible to easily mount the detecting means that detects the operation of the battery cells, and it is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of short circuits during the assembly or the operation of the battery module. Furthermore, it is possible to easily perform the electric connection between the battery modules when manufacturing the medium- or large-sized battery module using the respective battery modules as unit bodies.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a frame member for fabrication of a battery module including two battery cells, each of which has electrode terminals formed at upper and lower ends thereof, as unit cells. The frame member includes a lower-end frame having a groove, into which lower electrode terminals of the unit cells are inserted while the lower electrode terminals of the unit cells are coupled with each other, the lower-end frame being constructed such that lower-end sealing parts of the unit cells are mounted to the lower-end frame, an upper-end frame constructed such that upper-end sealing parts of the unit cells are mounted to the upper-end frame, and external input and output terminals, which are connected to upper electrode terminals of the unit cells, protrude from the outer surface of the upper-end frame, and a side frame connected between the lower-end frame and the upper-end frame, the side frame being constructed such that one-side sealing parts of the unit cells are mounted to the side frame. The frame member according to the present invention is effective in that a battery module is fabricated while the battery module has high mechanical strength, and the size and the weight of the battery module are minimized. Furthermore, it is possible to easily mount the detecting means that detects the operation of the battery cells. Consequently, the battery module is easily fabricated, and the occurrence of short circuits is effectively prevented during the assembly or the operation of the battery module.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a secondary battery comprising electrode leads mounted in a sealed fashion in a battery case while the electrode leads partially protrude from the battery case and resin films disposed between the battery case and the electrode leads wherein the electrode leads are provided at predetermined areas of the surfaces thereof, to which the resin films are applied, with irregular parts, by which the adhesive strength between the electrode leads and the resin films is increased. The adhesive strength between the electrode leads and the resin films is large, and the movement path of moisture or electrolyte, through which the moisture contained in the air or the electrolyte contained in the secondary battery may move, is extended. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of minimizing the reduction in service life of the secondary battery due to introduction of the moisture into the secondary battery and leakage of the electrolyte from the secondary battery. The secondary battery is very useful as a unit cell for medium- or large-sized battery systems, such as hybrid electric vehicles.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a pouch-type battery including a cathode and an anode protruding from opposite sides of a battery case in opposite directions, wherein the pouch-type battery is constructed in a structure in which two receiving parts are formed at a one-unit sheet-type battery case in a symmetrical fashion such that an electrode assembly is received in the receiving parts, the battery case is bent between the two receiving parts (along a bending line) such that one of the receiving parts overlaps with the other receiving part while the electrode assembly is received in the other receiving part, the bent battery case being scaled, the two receiving parts are continuously formed while the two receiving parts are in contact with the bending line, and the battery case is provided at the edge thereof where the bending line runs with bent depression parts having a depth equivalent to that of the receiving parts. The pouch-type battery is manufactured with a capacity equivalent to twice that of a conventional battery through a simple assembly process, and is constructed in a structure in which the battery case is prevented from breakage during the assembly process.
