Abstract:
A method and apparatus for simultaneously communicating on at least two carrier frequencies, of which at least one carrier frequency is a licensed band and at least one carrier frequency is an unlicensed band are provided. The method includes broadcasting an operating status of the unlicensed band to a receiver device; collecting feedback data regarding channel conditions from the receiver device for both the licensed band and unlicensed band; determining, when a bandwidth request is received from the receiver device, whether to use the unlicensed band based on the channel conditions; transmitting an unlicensed band scheduling indication to the receiver device; and communicating with the receiver device using both the licensed band and the unlicensed band according to the transmitted unlicensed band scheduling indication.
Abstract:
A method for processing a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) in a wireless communication system based on a multiple access scheme is provided. The CSI-RS transmission method defines a plurality of CSI-RS patterns, assigns the CSI-RS patterns to individual cells, uses the CSI-RSs alternately per Physical Resource Block (PRB) so as to utilize the transmission powers of all antenna ports for transmitting CSI-RSs, transmits Coordinated Multi Point (CoMP) CSI-RSs and non-CoMP CSI-RSs separately, and mutes specific resources in association with the CSI-RS pattern of adjacent cells.
Abstract:
A method is provided for determining reference signal positions in a frequency-time domain in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. A plurality of sub-carriers are selected in one resource block according to a predetermined mother pattern for reference signal allocation. When a single resource block is assigned for transmission to a user, the reference signal positions are determined corresponding to the plurality of selected sub-carriers in the single resource block. When multiple resource blocks are assigned for transmission to a user, the reference signal positions are determined in the multiple resource blocks by reducing a number of the plurality of selected sub-carriers in the mother pattern for at least one of the multiple resource blocks.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting reference signals in a communication system are provided. The method includes transmitting common reference signals of a first type from a transmitter to a plurality of receivers; transmitting receiver-specific reference signals of a second type from a plurality of distributed ports to a subset of the plurality of receivers; wherein the common reference signals of the first type and the receiver-specific reference signals of the second type are allocated to different resources from one another, and wherein the communication system includes the transmitter and the plurality of receivers and the transmitter uses a plurality of central ports and the plurality of distributed ports to transmit to the plurality of receivers.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting Channel State Information Reference Symbol (CSI-RS) and data with partial muting of the CSI-RS are proposed. The method includes determining a CSI-RS pattern to be used among CSI-RS pattern candidates, determining a muting pattern for muting some resource elements constituting CSI-RS pattern candidates except for the determined CSI-RS pattern, mapping data symbols and CSI-RS to resource elements in a resource grid with rate patching in consideration of the CSI-RS pattern and muting pattern, and transmitting the data symbols and CSI-RS to a terminal.
Abstract:
A resource allocation method of a base station in a wireless communication system based on a radio frame including a plurality of subframes including at least one first-type subframe and at least one second-type subframe is provided. The method includes generating first-type downlink control information including resource allocation information on the first-type subframe, generating second-type downlink control information including resource allocation information on the second-type subframe, and transmitting the first-type subframe including the first-type downlink control information and the second-type downlink control information, wherein the second-type subframe is transmitted with a lower transmit power than the transmit power of the first-type subframe.
Abstract:
In a mobile communication system, a relay station (RS) is used for signal exchange with a base station (BS), and includes a first antenna set including at least one antenna, used for signal exchange with the BS, and a second antenna set including at least one antenna, used for signal exchange with a mobile station (MS). The RS selects at least one antenna from the second antenna set for each of the at least one MS, and exchanges a signal with the MS using the selected at least one antenna.
