    摘要: A head-slider. The head-slider includes a slider, and a thin-film magnetic-recording head. The thin-film magnetic-recording head includes: a read element; a write element; a non-magnetic insulating protective layer disposed around both read and write elements; a resist disposed at a position further away from an air-bearing surface than the read element; and, a hard-material member including a material selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide and tungsten, which is disposed at a position further away from the air-bearing surface than the read element and the write element. Both an end of the resist and an end of the hard-material member overlap the write element when viewed in a stacking direction. A ratio of a distance from the air-bearing surface to a deepest end of the hard-material member to a distance from the air-bearing surface to a deepest end of the resist is at least 0.9.

The conveyer of a honeycomb formed article includes a plurality of lengthy cradles that are sequentially supplied and then sequentially support and convey the honeycomb formed article, and a fixed support that is fixed so as to extend from the extruder to a supply position of the lengthy cradles, supports the honeycomb formed article just after being extruded, and conveys it to one of the lengthy cradles, and the fixed support is an air float having a supporting face and a plurality of air ejection pores formed on the supporting face that conveys the honeycomb formed article by feeding air from the air ejection pores.

    摘要: The present invention provides a cutting method of a ceramic honeycomb formed body 5 for cutting the ceramic honeycomb formed body 5 with a fine line stretched at an appropriate tension substantially at right angles to the direction of throughholes 9 thereof. The method comprises the steps of providing a cutting guide groove 10 running through the outer periphery of the ceramic honeycomb formed body substantially at right angles to the direction of throughholes 9, and putting a fine line 2 to the cutting guide groove 10, to cut the ceramic honeycomb formed body 5 only by pressing the fine line 2 against the ceramic honeycomb formed body 5. By using this cutting method, it is possible to cut a ceramic honeycomb formed body having thin partition walls of under 125 &mgr;m without causing a distortion. The possibility to reduce the cutting frequency of the fine line leads to possibility to improve the cutting efficiency.

Each wire supporting portion includes a servo motor with an axis of rotation, a magnet member around the axis of rotation, a bobbin having a conical surface around which wire is wound, and magnetically coupled to the axis of rotation by the magnet member, and a traversing mechanism for varying the position where the wire is wound around the length of the conical surface.
