摘要: A belt-type continuously variable transmission has a drive pulley coupled to an input shaft, a driven pulley coupled to an output shaft, a V-belt trained around the drive and driven pulleys, a drive-pulley cylinder for varying the pulley width of the drive pulley, and a driven-pulley cylinder for varying the pulley width of the driven pulley. The belt-type continuously variable transmission is controlled by a control system including a high-pressure regulator valve for producing high-pressure control oil under a high control pressure, a low-pressure regulator valve for producing low-pressure control oil under a low control pressure which is lower than the high control pressure, a shift valve for selectively supplying the high-pressure control oil and the low-pressure control oil to the drive-pulley cylinder and the driven-pulley cylinder, and a shift controller for controlling the shift valve to move in a direction to eliminate an difference between a target speed ratio control value and a present speed ratio control value from a reference position in which an axial thrust force ratio between an axial thrust force required to be applied by the drive-pulley cylinder and an axial thrust force required to be applied by the driven-pulley cylinder to keep a present speed ratio i constant.

摘要: An optical information medium made up of a transparent substrate capable of allowing a recording laser beam to penetrate therethrough; a recording layer formed on the transparent substrate; and a reflective layer formed on the recording layer and reflecting a reproducing laser beam thereupon. A numerical aperture of an objective lens of an optical pickup for irradiating the recording laser beam on the recording layer is approximately 0.65, and the numerical aperture of an objective lens of the optical pickup for irradiating the recording laser beam on the reflection layer is approximately 0.60. An inclination angle &thgr; at both edges of the groove for tracking, being formed spirally on the surface of the transparent substrate on which the recording layer is formed, with respect to the main surface of the transparent substrate, is selected to be from 55° to 75°. An index ∝, expressed by 1−Dr/Ds when assuming that the depth of the groove on the transparent substrate is Ds and the depth of the recording layer at the position of said groove is Dr, is selected to be from 0.2 to 0.4. Further, the full width at half maximum of the groove on the transparent substrate is selected to be from one-third (⅓) to a half (½) of the pitch p of the groove. With this optical information medium, it is possible to record high density signals as signals that are readable optically, as well as to record them with stability.

摘要: Correlation values between a plurality of templates prepared beforehand and a picture-element data distribution as a pick-up result of an image are calculated, and the position of a maximum template whose correlation value is the maximum of the calculated correlation values is obtained. Subsequently, a curved surface function is calculated which fits the distribution of calculated correlation-values in positions near the maximum template's position, and the position of the picked-up image is calculated based on the curved surface function. As a result, the number of templates prepared beforehand to achieve desired accuracy in detecting a position and the number of times of calculating correlation-values can be reduced, and the image position can be quickly and accurately detected.
