摘要: A global motion vector coding scheme is used for coding or decoding an image. Global motion parameters are associated with a current image frame. Local motion vectors are derived from the global motion parameters for individual macroblocks in the current image frame. The local motion vectors are then used to identify reference blocks in a current reference frame. The reference blocks are then used to either encode or decode the macroblocks in the current image frame.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for receiving and encoding 3D video. The receiving method comprises: accepting a bitstream with a current video frame encoded with two interlaced fields, in a MPEG2, MPEG4, or H.264 standard; decoding a current frame top field; decoding a current frame bottom field; and, presenting the decoded top and bottom fields as a 3D frame image. In some aspects, the method presents the decoded top and bottom fields as a stereo-view image. In other aspects, the method accepts 2D selection commands in response to a trigger such as receiving a supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message, an analysis of display capabilities, manual selection, or receiver system configuration. Then, only one of the current frame interlaced fields is decoded, and a 2D frame image is presented.

摘要: A method for reducing visual artifacts in reconstructed images. One embodiment of the method determines edge energy for each pixel in the image and then compares the edge energy for each pixel to a threshold, producing an edge map. A distance transform is then used to produce a filter map and a filter is applied to pixel in the image, such that the filter applied is dependent upon a filter map value for each pixel. An output value for each pixel is then produced.

摘要: Reduced complexity inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) masks and a method for reducing the number of IDCT calculations in video decoding are provided. The method comprises: accepting an n×m matrix of DCT coefficients; performing (n−y) horizontal IDCT operations, where y is greater than 0; performing y scaling operations; and, generating an n×m block of pixel information. Some aspects of the method further comprise: performing (m−z) vertical IDCT operations, where z is in the range between 0 and m/2. In some aspects, performing (n−y) horizontal ICDT operations includes performing IDCT operations for the first (n−y) horizontal rows. Then, performing y scaling operations includes: selecting the DC component from the first position of each horizontal row; scaling the selected DC component; and, copying the scaled DC component into the remaining positions of each of horizontal row.
