摘要: A system for making the contents of the “Subject:” field of a response email message more meaningful and more useful within a conversation thread of email messages by providing an abstract of the response message within the “Subject:” field. Before a response message is sent, the system automatically generates at least one new subject line that it proposes to the user for use in the “Subject:” field of the response message. The system generates a user interface display of a number of proposed subject lines, and also provides the user with the options of accepting, modifying, or declining the proposed subjects lines. The displayed contents of a “Subject:” field for the response message contains the currently selected one of the proposed subject lines. A predetermined one of the proposed subject lines may be provided as an initial default value of the “Subject:” field. The system generates the proposed subject lines using auto-summarization techniques, which are performed using various text analysis and information retrieval techniques based on attributes of the response message.

摘要: A system for providing a gathered threads view of email messages that effectively indicates the presence of messages from important persons and/or from new participants in the thread. When a message in a thread is received, the sender of the message is compared to a list of important persons for the receiving user. If the message is from a person that is important to the receiving user, then an indication of that message is presented in the user interface with a higher display precedence than indications of messages in the thread from users that are not important. The sender of a received message in a thread may also be compared with the senders of previous messages in the thread and the recipients of the first message in the thread. If the sender of the received message is a person that has not previously been a sender of a previous message in the thread, then that message is considered to be from a new participant in the thread, and an indication of the received message is presented in the user interface with a higher display precedence than indications of messages in the thread sent from persons that had previously been senders. The system may display indications of all messages in a thread received from important persons are displayed at a higher precedence than indications of messages from new thread participants, which are in turn displayed at a higher precedence than indications of all other messages in the thread.

摘要: A voltage regulator includes a power device formed by an NMOS transistor having a drain terminal coupled to an input voltage, a source terminal providing an output voltage and a gate terminal receiving a gate drive signal; and an integrated AC/DC control loop configured to access the output voltage and to generate the gate drive signal based on a value of the output voltage in relation to a first reference voltage and a second reference voltage. The AC control portion generates a gate drive control signal which is AC coupled to the gate terminal of the power device as an AC component of the gate drive signal. The DC control portion controls a DC voltage level of the gate drive signal. The AC control portion is powered by the input voltage while the DC control portion is powered by a high supply voltage greater than the input voltage.

摘要: A thermal sensor for an integrated circuit including a bandgap reference circuit. The thermal sensor includes a comparator that compares a temperature dependent voltage generated by the bandgap reference circuit to a temperature independent voltage, where both temperatures are referenced to the bandgap reference voltage generated by the bandgap reference circuit. The thermal sensor generates a digital output control signal based on a predetermined relationship between the temperature dependent voltage and the temperature independent reference voltage. When used as a thermal shutdown circuit, the comparator generates a thermal shut-down signal when the dependent temperature voltage decreases (or increases) with rising system temperature to equal to the temperature independent reference voltage. The comparator is implemented using an operational amplifier that is connected to existing circuitry associated with the bandgap reference circuit.

摘要: An amphibious vehicle operable on dry land, wet land, or marsh land covered by water. In some embodiments, the amphibious vehicle includes a land-based vehicle, such as a car, truck, or all terrain vehicle (ATV), at least two pontoons supporting the land-based vehicle, and a track system disposed around each of the pontoons. Each pontoon has an internal volume configured to provide buoyancy for the land-based vehicle, whether on wet land or in water. The track system is adapted to propel the land-based vehicle. The amphibious vehicle may further include a drive system coupled between the land-based vehicle and the track system and a skid steering system. The drive system is configured to selectably rotate the track system about the pontoons, while the skid steering system is configured to control the direction in which the land-based vehicle is propelled. The amphibious vehicle may also include a suspension system.

摘要: Evaluating an embedded EPROM in a host IC device involves using program circuitry to program/unprogram all of the floating-gate cells of the embedded EPROM, then simultaneously transmitting a predetermined test bias voltage to all of the programmed/unprogrammed floating-gate cells, and then evaluating the output terminals of all of the floating-gate cells using a logic (e.g., wired NOR or NAND) circuit, whereby successful operation of all of the embedded EPROM cells causes the wired logic circuit to generate a single positive test result signal, and the failure of one or more of the embedded EPROM cells causes the wired logic circuit to generate a single negative test signal. A reference cell is also evaluated using a bias testing circuit to determine that the reference voltage supplied during normal operation is at an acceptable voltage level.

摘要: Provision of flow control arrangements which can be switched from high flow restriction to low flow restriction or vice versa are desirable. It is known to use switched vortex valves comprising a vortex chamber having a diverter portion which jets a through flow into either radial presentation to an outlet or tangential presentation with differential flow restrictions. Typically deflection is through cross flows presented from control ports as determined by mechanically actuated and controlled valves. Sensors are required to determine pressure differentials in order to actuate these moving part valves. By providing association between the control ports and an outlet path along with appropriate configuration and sizing of the flow regulators switching states can be provided through the cross flows presented via the flow regulators between the high and low through flow restriction. The flow regulators generally comprise orifice restrictors, diffusers/venturi arrangements or vortex throttles.
