More specifically, the method comprises encoding the at least one inputted data stream by a channel coding scheme, puncturing the at least one inputted coded data stream into at least two sub-streams, layer-modulating the at least two sub-streams using layer-modulation schemes, transmitting the layered-modulated sub-streams via the multiple antennas, wherein transmission power of each antenna is based channel condition, and receiving by at least one user the layered-modulated sub-stream, wherein the each user uses different demodulation scheme.

The GPS orbital description data information relates to a first group of orbiting satellites within operable range of the base station (BS) providing the broadcasting of the GPS orbital description data. The method further includes performing GPS-based positioning for the mobile terminal based upon signaling received from a second group of a plurality of orbiting satellites in conjunction with the GPS orbital description data, such that at least one of the second group of the plurality of orbiting satellites is the same as some or all of the orbiting satellites of the first group.

A system and method for managing communication in an integrated services network ensures that media information is displayed on at least one of two terminals during a call without using any transmission bandwidth. This is achieved by having at least one of the terminals pre-store the media information in a memory and then controlling the terminal to recall and display this information when certain events occur during the call. The media information may include animated information, images, and short-time video scripts. This information and broader band media such as streaming video may be displayed on the same terminal. The display of media information may also be controlled based on the past knowledge and experience callers have about one another and/or their communications equipment.
