摘要： A method and wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed that is configured to perform cell reselection to another cell when the WTRU is in a CELL_FACH state using an Enhanced-Dedicated Channel (E-DCH). The cell reselection is based on internal measurements by the WTRU. Alternatively, the cell reselection can be WTRU based on the WTRU measurements reported to the network.

摘要： A method and apparatus are disclosed to manage the enhanced medium access control-e (MAC-e) and enhanced MAC-es resources and respective variables for the enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) in the enhanced Cell_FACH state. Due to the nature of the E-DCH transmission in the uplink (UL) in the Cell_FACH state and the fact that a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) might set up and release the E-DCH resources more frequently, methods to deal with the TSN numbering are described.

摘要： A method and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. The WTRU comprises a receiver, a transmitter, and a processor. The WTRU receives a system information block (SIB) including a parameter indicating a number of transmissions for a random access message and a parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message. The WTRU transmits a random access preamble and a random access message, wherein the random access message is transmitted for a duration indicated by the parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message. The WTRU retransmits the random access message, wherein the random access message is retransmitted a number of times indicated by the parameter indicating the number of transmissions for the random access message and for the duration indicated by the parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message.

摘要： A method and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. The WTRU comprises a transceiver and a processor. The WTRU receives a system information block (SIB) from a base station, wherein the SIB indicates random access transmission uplink resources. After receiving the SIB, the WTRU transmits a random access preamble to the base station. After transmitting the random access preamble, the WTRU transmits, using one or more of the uplink resources indicated by the SIB, a first message to the base station, wherein the first message includes a first radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) of the WTRU. After transmitting the first message, the WTRU receives a second message from the base station, wherein the second message is derived from a second RNTI, the second RNTI being different than the first RNTI. After receiving the second message, the WTRU transmits to the base station.

The method includes receiving a radio network terminal identifier (RNTI) from a first cell, transitioning from a connected state, performing cell reselection and to select a second cell different than the first cell, initiating resumption of communication by transmitting the RNTI to the second cell and resuming communications based on the transmitted RNTI.
