摘要: A method for efficiently utilizing radio resources by reducing a size of a PDU of an RLC layer in a mobile communication system supporting a VoIP service. In the method, an RLC PDU is framed without inserting information regarding a start point and an end point of a voice packet, or existence or absence of padding, such that a size of overhead according to transmission of the voice packet can be reduced. Consequently, restricted radio resources can be efficiently used.

摘要: An apparatus and method for performing duplicate avoidance of broadcast data packets in a (UE). The includes receiving a broadcast data packet from a plurality of cells; storing, if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet does not fall within a reception window, the broadcast data packet in a buffer and updating the reception window based on the sequence number; determining, if the sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window, whether a broadcast data packet having the sequence number has previously been stored in the buffer; discarding the broadcast data packet, if the broadcast data packet has previously been stored in the buffer; and storing the broadcast data packet in the buffer, if the broadcast data packet has not previously been stored in the buffer.

摘要: An apparatus and method for selectively combining broadcast data packets from a plurality of cells in a user equipment (UE). A selective combiner stores a received broadcast data packet in a buffer if a sequence number of the broadcast data packet received from the plurality of cells does not fall within a reception window, and stores the received broadcast data packet in the buffer if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has not been stored in the buffer. The selective combiner updates the reception window if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet does not fall within the reception window, and discards the received broadcast data packet if a sequence number of the received broadcast data packet falls within the reception window but has been stored in the buffer.

摘要: A method for dividing MBMS control information provided to UEs for an MBMS service into three types and separately transmitting the divided MBMS control information according to their types. The MBMS control information is divided into first MBMS control information that is periodically transmitted, and second MBMS control information that is aperiodically transmitted due to occurrence of an event. The periodically transmitted first MBMS control information is divided into MBMS control information that is transmitted at a first periodic interval and MBMS control information that is transmitted at a second periodic interval. The first periodic interval is shorter than the second periodic interval to enable a UE desiring to receive a particular MBMS service to preferentially receive MBMS status information in advance of MBMS RB information.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for setting a common channel for a packet data service by an SRNC through a UE and a DRNC when the UE is handed over from a first Node B to a second Node B as the UE moves to the second Node B, in a mobile communication system. The SRNC transmits service parameters including bit rate information for the packet data service to the DRNC, and receives information on a common channel determined based on the service parameters from the DRNC. The SRNC transmits information on the determined common channel to the UE through the DRNC and the second Node B, to allocate the determined common channel to the UE.

摘要: Disclosed is a mobile communication system for providing a number of User Equipment (UEs) positioned in a plurality of cells with Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) using CDMA technology. A Radio Network Controller (RNC) transmits a MBMS availability message to each of the plurality of cells under management regarding at least one MBMS which is available in a corresponding cell in order to support the mobility of the UE which receives the MBMS. The UE decides whether it can receive a desired MBMS in the current cell, after receiving the MBMS availability message, and requests the desired MBMS or reselects another cell. The continuity of MBMS reception is improved while UEs using the MBMS are moving and the overhead of RRC connection setup for unnecessary MBMS request is reduced.

摘要: A retransmission method and apparatus performed in a transmitter of a mobile communication system supporting a Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest (HARQ) operation and an Automatic Retransmission request (ARQ) operation for retransmission of a packet are provided. At least one ARQ entity generates at least one ARQ packet, and an HARQ entity transmits an HARQ packet including the at least one ARQ packet to a receiver, and transmits a local NACK signal indicating transmission fail of the ARQ packet to a corresponding ARQ entity, if the HARQ packet fails in transmission.
