摘要: A method to treat nasal tissue reduces the ability of a virus to infect a human being. The method comprises the steps of providing a liquid composition comprising water, a humectant, a foam builder, 0.01% to 9% by weight of a surfactant, and a minor effective quantity of thickener to produce a coating on the nasal tissue after the liquid composition is applied to the nasal tissue as a foam; applying the liquid composition to the nasal tissue as a foam; and, allowing bubbles in the foam to dissipate so that a coating forms on the nasal tissue.

摘要: A process is provided to improve the insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance of an individual's metabolism. The process includes providing at a first location at least one polyol in an aqueous solution. A minor effective amount of a water soluble mineral composition comprising chromium picolinate is admixed with the aqueous solution to produce an aqueous polyol-chromium composition. The composition is dried and processed to produce solid chromium-infused polyol particles. The particles are packaged and transported to a second location. A selected quantity of the chromium-infused polyol particles are used to produce a food product selected from a group consisting of a liquid food including a liquid and at least fifty percent solids by weight, and a solid food composition. The food products produced with the mineral-infused polyol particles are packaged. The packaged food products are sold to the individual. The individual ingests the food product containing the mineral-infused polyol.

摘要: A method to reduce sexual discomfort for a woman during sexual intercourse vaginally introduces a lubricant composition comprising carrageenan comprising 0 to 92% by weight iota carrageenan, 10% to 100% by weight lambda carrageenan, and, 0 to 18% by weight kappa carrageenan; water such that the ratio of carrageenan to water is in the range of 1:10 to 1:50; at least one prebiotic; and, a natural humectant with a peak tackiness force of less than 50 g and a work of adhesion of less than 0.500 GS.

摘要: A method is provided to sweeten a food product to minimize the glycemic index of the food product, to introduce natural fiber into the food product, to produce a desired sweetness profile, and to reduce the likelihood that the food product when ingested functions as a laxative. The method includes the steps of selecting at least one polyol; determining the Taxation threshhold in grams per day of the polyol; determining the desired quantity of a sweetener composition in a serving of the food product, the sweetener composition comprising the polyol and agave syrup solids added in solid form during the manufacture of the food product; determining the desired sweetener profile of the sweetener composition, the sweetener composition including proportions of agave and the polyol to minimize the likelihood the sweetener composition will cause the food product to function as a laxative; admixing the polyol and agave syrup to produce a sweetener mixture; drying and fractioning the sweetener mixture to produce solid sweetener particles infused with agave syrup solids; and, admixing the sweetener particles during the manufacture of the food product to produce the desired quantity of the sweetener composition in a serving of the food product.

摘要: A method is provided to sweeten a food product to minimize the glycemic load of the food product, to introduce natural fiber into the food product, to produce a desired sweetness profile, and to reduce the likelihood that the food product when ingested causes gastrointestinal distress. The method includes the steps of selecting at least one polyol; determining the laxation threshold in grams per day of the polyol(s); determining the desired quantity of a sweetener composition in a serving of the food product, the sweetener composition comprising the polyol(s) and agave syrup solids added in solid form during the manufacture of the food product; determining the desired sweetener profile of the sweetener composition, the sweetener composition including proportions of agave and the polyol(s) to minimize the likelihood the sweetener composition will cause the food product to cause gastrointestinal distress; the adjustment of sweetness by adding a high intensity sweetener(s); admixing the sweetener particles during the manufacture of the food product to produce the desired quantity of the sweetener composition in a serving of the food product.
