摘要: A sealed pack (440) contains quantities of ingredients to make an individual smoothie portion. The ingredients comprise a flavour ingredient (410) such as pieces of fruit (strawberries, raspberries, mango), a frozen portion of liquid (420) such as water, fruit juice, milk, coffee or tea; and a consistency ingredient (430) such as ice-cream, sorbet and yoghurt. The pack may be subjected to a temperature sufficiently low to maintain the frozen state of some of the ingredients in the pack (440). Also disclosed is a method of packaging the ingredients into the pack, or into first and second containers, or into a container with compartments for different ingredients in frozen and unfrozen states; and a method of preparing an individual smoothie using the sealed pack wherein the ingredients are blended with additional liquid; and an apparatus that uses sealed pack for automatically vending an individual smoothie portion.

摘要: The present invention provides a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and particularly non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) comprising an ume (Japanese apricot) juice concentrate or a processed product thereof. The prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent is obtained by utilizing a component contained in a plant or a processed product thereof, and hence is safe and easily taken. It has been confirmed that when the ume juice concentrate or the processed product thereof is orally administered to a streptozocin (STZ)-induced NAFLD model mouse or an STZ-induced NASH model mouse, liver fibrogenesis can be reduced.

摘要: This invention discloses packaged nutritional supplements that have nutritional ingredients derived from green leafy vegetation that shall collectively or singly be useful to fulfill the daily need of supplementation from one or more of a nutrient from green leafy vegetation. One embodiment of this invention discloses a novel packaged composition that comprises at least one fraction of a green leafy vegetation and at least one more ingredient to improve its usability and is source of at least one nutritional ingredient selected from the group dietary fiber, beta carotene, iron, calcium, xanthophylls, folic acid and lysine plus methionine and cystine; wherein the fraction comprises a fibrous fraction, a water soluble deproteinized juice fraction and a water insoluble high protein low fiber fraction as fourth primary fraction. In one embodiment of invention, the contribution of at least one nutrient to the nutrient content of the composition from green leafy vegetation or its fraction is a least 15% of at least content of one nutrient of the composition. Also disclosed is a novel packaged composition comprising pulp of whole edible green leafy vegetation and at least one component of flax-seed in the form of a soup or a food bar. A method of producing a liquid product from a receptacle containing frozen liquid contents includes receiving the receptacle containing a frozen liquid contents in a dispenser, identifying a characteristic of the receptacle, the contents, and/or a desired product, melting at least a portion of the contents to generate the product by selectively heating the receptacle and/or the contents without adding liquid to the interior of the receptacle and/or supplying a liquid to the interior of the receptacle, wherein the selectively heating without adding liquid to the interior of the receptacle and/or suppling the liquid is based on the identified characteristic. The method also includes perforating the receptacle and dispensing the product from the receptacle.

摘要: Disclosed is a drink container delivery system, including methods of formation and use. The drink container delivery system provides a biodegradable and compostable drink container, ideal for small volume “energy shots” and other liquid compositions. The system is also used with granular solid and gel compositions. In addition to acting as a packaging vessel for the composition, micro droplets of the composition are dispersed throughout the substance of the container and are released by mechanical disruption, such as by chewing. The container is formed from wax or similar non-toxic material and can be safely chewed and eventually discarded responsibly by the user wherein the container material biodegrades naturally.

摘要: A method of preparing a lysolecithin composition. The method includes the steps of (a) providing a lecithin mixture including a lecithin, water, and ethanol, (b) adding phospholipase A1 or A2 to the lecithin mixture; and (c) allowing an enzymatic reaction to occur so that at least 70% of the phospholipids in the lecithin are converted to lysophospholipids to obtain the lysolecithin composition. Also disclosed are a lysolecithin composition thus prepared, a flavor emulsion prepared from the lysolecithin composition, and a liquid beverage or liquid beverage concentrate containing the lysolecithin composition.
