Abstract: A device (10) for collecting and processing bone fragments is disclosed. The device comprises a chamber member (12), a press member (14), an intake port (16), and a vacuum port (18). A compression surface (20) and a filter support surface (22) configured to support a filter are defined by said chamber and/or press member. The intake port is on the chamber and/or press member and is configured to receive a composition comprising bone fragments. The vacuum port is on the chamber and/or press member. The chamber member and the press member are rotationally coupled with one another. The composition is acquired through the intake port and collected between the compression surface and the filter support surface. The application of rotational force to the chamber and/or press member in a first direction moves the compression surface and the filter support surface together to compress the composition therebetween to compact, and further remove filtrate from the composition.

Abstract: A cot fastening system for fastening a cot to an emergency vehicle includes a frame configured for mounting to the floor of an emergency vehicle, which has a longitudinal axis and a cot loading direction along the longitudinal axis. A first restraint assembly is for coupling to a foot end cot attachment of a cot and is mounted to the frame. A second restraint assembly is for coupling to a head end cot attachment of the cot and is mounted to the frame. The frame includes a first section and a second section. The first section has a first width less than the spacing between head end wheels of the cot to allow the cot to straddle the frame. The second section extends from the first end of the first section along the longitudinal axis of the frame and diverges away from the longitudinal axis of the frame to a second width greater than the first width but less than the spacing between the head end wheels to form a guide for guiding the head end wheels of the cot when the head end cot attachment has passed the first restraint assembly and is at or near the second restraint assembly to thereby guide the head end cot attachment into alignment with the second restraint assembly.

Abstract: A patient transport loading and unloading apparatus for an emergency vehicle includes at least one support configured for mounting at the access opening of the vehicle and a stationary mount. The support is deployable relative to the stationary mount between a stowed position (in which the support cannot support the patient transport apparatus) and a loading position. Further, the support is configured to remain stationary when the patient transport apparatus is loaded onto the support and while the patient transport apparatus is moved into the vehicle through the access opening.

Abstract: A asset tracking system includes a camera adapted to capture images and output signals representative of the images. The camera may include one or more depth sensors that detect distances between the depth sensor and objects positioned within the field of view of the one or more cameras. A computer device processes the image signals and or depth signals from cameras and determines any one or more of the following: (a) whether a patient care protocol has been properly followed; (b) what condition a patient is in; (c) whether an infection control protocol has been properly followed; and (d) whether steps have been taken to reduce the risk of a patient from falling. Alerts may be issued if any conditions of importance are detected.
