    摘要: A method in a network device coupled with a packet data network (PDN) gateway of a mobile operator is described. The method includes transmitting configuration information to a low powered device gateway coupled with a plurality of low powered devices based on a received configuration request, wherein the low powered device gateway does not include a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM). The method further includes communicating with an AAA server to authenticate a selection of the plurality of low powered devices and establishing a GPRS Tunnel Protocol (GTP) tunnel with the PDN gateway. The method further includes receiving from the low powered device gateway collected data from the selection of the plurality of low powered devices and sending to the PDN gateway the collected data.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for providing broadband access to a Packet Data Network (PDN) from a WLAN. A network node receives a request for a dedicated bearer from a PDN gateway, along with one or more Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. Responsive to the bearer request, the network node sends a request to an access point in the WLAN for load information indicative of a load of the access point, and receives the requested load information. Based on the load information, the network node determines whether the access point would be able to meet the one or more QoS requirements if the bearer request was granted. If the determining indicates that the access point would be able to meet the one or more QoS requirements, the network node creates the dedicated bearer between the wireless terminal and the PDN gateway according to the one or more QoS requirements.

    摘要: A method of proxy operation at a mobile router includes connecting to a plurality of machine-type communication (MTC) devices via a southbound interface of the mobile router that uses a first radio access technology, and connecting to a mobile communication network via a northbound interface of the mobile router that uses a second radio access technology. The method further includes establishing a main communication session between the mobile router and the mobile communication network via the northbound interface, including authenticating the mobile router to the mobile communication network, and operating as a proxy for the plurality of MTC devices. Such operation includes relaying signaling between individual ones of the plurality of MTC devices and the mobile communication network via respective sub-sessions of the main communication session.

    摘要: A method in a network device is described and includes selecting, based upon a service request, one or more device gateways from a plurality of device gateways that are communicatively coupled with a plurality of low powered devices. The low powered devices do not include Subscriber Identity Modules. Configuration information is transmitted over a public network to the selected device gateways, causing the selected device gateways to configure ones of the low power devices to perform actions according to the service request. Data is received from the selected device gateways over the public network that was generated by the configured low power devices. One or more GPRS Tunnel Protocol (GTP) tunnels are established with a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway of a mobile network operator, and the received data is sent over the one or more GTP tunnels to be processed by the mobile network operator.

    摘要: A system and method is provided for performing an access network discovery and selection function in a communication system. An access network discovery and selection function (“ANDSF”) server is operable with a Third Generation Partnership Project (“3GPP”) radio access network and a Wireless Fidelity (“Wi-Fi”) radio access network coupled to a core network. The ANDSF server is configured to communicate with a user equipment over an enhanced S14 interface. The enhanced S14 interface comprises Wi-Fi radio access technology data including a basis service set (“BSS”) load indication, security information, quality of experience information, backhaul network bandwidth and average throughput. The ANDSF server is also configured to provide policy information to the user equipment based on conditions in the Wi-Fi radio access network and the 3GPP radio access network.
