摘要: A mixer assembly comprises a tubular housing including a reductant inlet, an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet. The tubular housing defines a longitudinal axis along which exhaust enters the housing. The reductant inlet is positioned on a first side of the tubular housing. An upstream element covers approximately one-half of the cross sectional area of the enhaust gas inlet and is positioned upstream of the reductant inlet. An upstream surface of the upstream mixing element directs exhaust gas flow transversly toward the reductant inlet. A downstream mixing element along with the upstream mixing element at least partially defines a reductant receiving duct in which injected reductant and exhaust gas mix.

摘要: A mixer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine for mixing additives into an exhaust gas flow, with at least one inlet pipe having a pipe axis, with at least one outlet pipe having a pipe axis and with a housing for receiving the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe, wherein the outlet pipe has an inner part which is arranged within the housing and is provided with at least one outflow opening for the purpose of conducting the exhaust gas out of the housing, wherein the housing has a first housing part with a first housing edge and at least one second housing part with a second housing edge, wherein the two housing parts are at least partially connected via the housing edge, and in that the inlet pipe has an inner part which is arranged within the housing and is provided with at least one inlet opening for the purpose of introducing the exhaust gas into the housing, wherein a) the respective housing edge as at least two formations, each having a center axis, and/or b) the respective housing part has at least two rim holes, each having a center axis, and the respective pipe has bearing points via which said pipe is mounted within the formations or within the rim holes, wherein i) the respective pipe is formed symmetrically with respect to the design of the bearing points, and, for the purpose of installation, can be mounted in at least two different positions R1, R2 in the respective formation, or ii) the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe are of identical design with respect to the design of the bearing points, or iii) the two housing parts are connectable in a plurality of positions S1, S2 relative to each other via the housing edge.

摘要: A mixing chamber for mixing an additive in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, having a single-part or multi-part housing which has an entry opening for exhaust gas having a flow cross-section and having a central entry axis, and which has, arranged downstream of the entry opening, an exit opening for exhaust gas having a flow cross-section and having a central exit axis. A flow-guiding element is arranged within the housing between the two openings, wherein the flow-guiding element is tubular and forms at least one channel having a channel axis, said channel having an inlet and having an outlet, via which the entire exhaust gas stream is guided, in a flow direction parallel to the channel axis, to the outlet having an outlet cross-section, and the flow direction deviates relative to the central exit axis by an angle a of between 20° and 80°. The mixing chamber is to be designed and arranged in such a way that, with a reduced overall length, an improved distribution of the mixture of exhaust gas and additive over the substrate surface is achieved and at the same time deposits of the additive are avoided. A downstream substrate is provided adjacent to the outlet in the direction of the central exit axis, the downstream substrate having a substrate cross-section that corresponds to the outlet cross-section.

摘要: A mixer assembly for mixing an injected reductant with an exhaust gas comprises a tubular housing including a reductant inlet, an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet. The reductant inlet is positioned on a first side of the tubular housing and oriented to direct injected reductant along an injection access that extends transversely to a longitudinal axis. A first flow guide element is shaped as a sheet including a first aperture extending therethrough as well as a surface facing upstream. Exhaust gas flowing through the first aperture is impinged by the injected redundant. A second flow guide element is shaped as a sheet, positioned downstream from the first flow guide element and fixed to the first flow guide element to define a mixing chamber between the first flow guide element and the second flow guide element in which the injected redundant and the exhaust gas mix.

摘要: A mixer comprises a tubular housing defining a longitudinal axis along which exhaust gas flows. Injected reductant flows along an injection axis that extends at a non-parallel angle to the longitudinal axis. A first flow guide element extends across and blocks a portion of the tubular housing and includes a first aperture extending therethrough. The first flow guide element is positioned upstream from the reductant inlet such that exhaust gas flowing through the first aperture is impinged by the reductant. A second flow guide element is positioned downstream from the first flow guide element and fixed to the first flow guide element to define a mixing chamber in which injected reductant and exhaust gas mix. An intermediate wall is integrally formed with one of the first and second flow guide elements. The other of the first and second flow guide elements is fixed to the intermediate wall.
