Abstract: An integrated gate driver for motor control includes a first diode coupled to an upper rail and providing a voltage on a first connector and a power amplifier coupled between the first connector and a second connector that can be coupled to a source of a high-side power transistor. The power amplifier receives a control signal and provides an output signal to a second pin for driving a gate of the high-side power transistor. A first integrated capacitor is coupled between the first and second connector and an integrated charge pump is coupled to supply a current to the first connector. The charge pump includes a second integrated capacitor having a terminal coupled to a high frequency oscillator and a terminal coupled through a second diode to the first connector and a third diode coupled between the second connector and a point between the second capacitor and the second diode.

Abstract: A human machine interface (HMI) system and method of operating. The system includes capacitive measurement circuitry coupled to one or more capacitive touch elements, and piezoelectric measurement circuit including interface circuitry coupled to one or more piezoelectric touch elements. The capacitive measurement circuitry includes a gain stage configured to amplify a signal corresponding to a capacitance at the one or more capacitor input terminals by a gain level for communication to processing circuitry. Gain control circuitry is configured to increase the gain level of the gain stage of the capacitive measurement circuitry responsive to the piezoelectric measurement circuitry receiving a user input from at least one of the piezoelectric touch elements. Implementations that further include piezoelectric drive circuitry for haptic output and clearing debris from the keypad are also disclosed.

Abstract: A solid-state relay circuit includes an isolator circuit, a first output terminal, a second output terminal, and an output switch. The output switch is coupled to the isolator circuit, and includes a first transistor, a second transistor, and a diode. The first transistor is coupled to the first output terminal. The second transistor is coupled to the first transistor and the second output terminal. The diode is coupled to the first transistor, the second transistor, and ground, and is configured to block current flow from ground to the first transistor and the second transistor. The isolator circuit is coupled to the output switch and is configured to activate the first transistor and the second transistor.

Abstract: In some examples, a system comprises a control subsystem comprising a static power supply, a modulated power supply, and a comparator. The system also includes a galvanic isolation device coupled to the static power supply, the modulated power supply, and the comparator. The system further includes a parameter measurement subsystem comprising a parameter measurement device coupled to a capacitor to be charged by the static and modulated power supplies via the galvanic isolation device. The capacitor has an electrical connection to the galvanic isolation device modulated in accordance with a current pulse train output by the parameter measurement device, the current pulse train indicating a parameter measured by the parameter measurement device. The comparator is to produce a signal indicative of the modulated electrical connection between the capacitor and the galvanic isolation device.

Abstract: Methods, circuits and computer program products are presented herein. The method includes isolating a ripple waveform from a current signal originating from a brushed direct current motor (BDCM). The method includes determining the wave count of the ripple waveform. The method includes determining a position of a movable structure operably coupled to a shaft of the BDCM according to the wave count of the ripple waveform. The present technology may be practiced without discrete capacitor components in high pass filtering aspects of the disclosed circuit. The methods, circuits and computer program products can be implemented to accurately determine a rotational position of a shaft of a BDCM and also position(s) of mechanism(s) coupled to the shaft without requiring any external sensors or other components for this purpose other than the disclosed circuits.

Abstract: A device for occupancy detection of a space includes a passive infrared (PIR) sensor having a fixed field of view; an infrared reflector positioned proximate to the PIR sensor for re-directing infrared radiation received from within the space toward the PIR sensor; an electromechanical device coupled to the infrared reflector and operative to alter a pointing angle thereof in response to a control signal; and, detection and control circuitry (or a microcontroller), coupled to the PIR sensor and the electromechanical device, operative to receive a signal from the PIR sensor indicative of motion of a person within the space, and further operative to selectively alter the pointing angle of the infrared reflector, using the electromechanical device, whereby the relative position of the person is shifted within the fixed field of view of the PIR sensor, thereby simulating motion of the person even when stationary.

Abstract: A circuit includes a capacitor-drop power supply including a series combination of a resistor and a first capacitor. The capacitor-drop power supply includes an output and is adapted to be coupled to a light source. The circuit also includes a second capacitor, a switch, and an active clamp circuit. The second capacitor couples to the output of the capacitor-drop power supply. The switch couples in parallel with the series combination of the resistor and the first capacitor. The switch is configured to cause the light source to illuminate. The active clamp circuit couples to the capacitor-drop power supply. The active clamp circuit has an output coupled to the capacitor-drop power supply. The active clamp circuit is configured to cause current to continuously flow through at least one of the switch or the series combination of resistor and first capacitor regardless of a magnitude of the voltage across the second capacitor.
