    Abstract: A system includes display equipment and a processor coupled to the display equipment. The processor is configured to cause the display equipment to display an electronic checklist associated with an aircraft. The processor is configured determine whether the electronic checklist includes a checklist item associated with a particular control page of a plurality of control pages. The processor is configured to, based on determining that the electronic checklist includes the checklist item associated with the particular control page, cause the display equipment to display the particular control page that includes a control element that is selectable to cause a control command to be sent to one or more components.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring, communicating and safeguarding the health and alertness of a pilot during operation of an aircraft. The state of the pilot is monitored using biometric sensors. A pilot state data processor of an onboard computer system determines whether the value of any health/alertness parameter has exceeded a specified threshold or not.
    The onboard computer system further includes an automatic control processor that automatically transfers control authority from the pilot to the autopilot and then issues an unfit pilot alert. Then a real-time audio/video/data connection is established between the pilot onboard the aircraft and a remote medical professional. The remote medical professional evaluates the medical fitness of the pilot and determines whether the pilot automated mitigations should be continued (pilot unfit for duty) or removed (pilot fit for duty).

    Abstract: Touch or proximity sensors are integrated into control devices such as knobs, dials or wheels incorporated in a user control panel. A control output processor detects whether any of the sensors are outputting signals indicating that a control device is being touched (or nearly touched) by a user. The control output processor causes an associated display area to be highlighted or otherwise modified on a display screen to indicate to the user which control device is being touched. This feature allows for “no-look” interaction with control panels, and keeps the user's eyes focused on the relevant displays where the control devices produce effects. This allows users to preview and verify that the correct control device is being manipulated prior to taking any (potentially erroneous) control actions.
