Abstract:
Provided are a copolymer having biocompatibility sufficient for use in medical material applications, and a method of forming a crosslinked body, the method including imparting biocompatibility to a substrate surface through the use of the copolymer. More specifically, a protein adsorption-suppressing effect and a cell adhesion-suppressing effect, which are features of a phosphorylcholine group, are imparted to the substrate surface. It has been found that a copolymer containing a phosphorylcholine constitutional unit and a photoreactive constitutional unit, or a copolymer containing a phosphorylcholine constitutional unit, a photoreactive constitutional unit, and a hydrophobic constitutional unit can impart a protein adsorption-suppressing effect and a cell adhesion-suppressing effect to a substrate surface through a simple approach called photoirradiation.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a joint prosthesis, bearing material and a production method thereof, which suppresses wear in a sliding section and suppresses the production of abrasive powder even during repeated daily operation. To achieve the object, there is provided a biomaterial comprising: a substrate made of metal, alloy or ceramic; and a biocompatible material layer laminated on the substrate, wherein hydroxyl groups are formed on the substrate by surface-treating, while the biocompatible material layer comprises a polymer containing phosphorylcholine groups, the substrate and the biocompatible material layer are bound via a binder layer which is combined with the hydroxyl groups of the substrate and with the biocompatible material layer.

[Problem] To provide a surface treatment polymer.[Solution] A compound represented by formula (1), and a surface treatment agent including the compound
Abstract:
In a molding step as step A1, a polymer material is molded and a substrate having a predetermined shape is obtained. In a polymer film forming step as step A2, the obtained substrate is immersed in a treatment aqueous solution including a compound having a phosphorylcholine group and a water-soluble inorganic salt, and the substrate in that state is irradiated with an ultraviolet light to form on a surface of the substrate a polymer film including polymer chains caused by polymerization of the compound having a phosphorylcholine group. A method for manufacturing a sliding member for an artificial joint as mentioned above makes it possible to efficiently manufacture a sliding member for an artificial joint having excellent wear resistance.
Abstract:
Provided is a lubricity-imparting agent that can impart durable lubricity (in particular, lubricity at the time of wetting) to a substrate. It has been found that a lubricity-imparting agent including a copolymer containing a constitutional unit (A) based on 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine and a constitutional unit (B) based on a photoreactive functional group-containing monomer, or a copolymer containing a constitutional unit (A) based on 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine, a constitutional unit (B) based on a photoreactive functional group-containing monomer, and a constitutional unit (C) based on a hydrophobic group-containing monomer can impart durable lubricity to a substrate surface through a simple approach called photoirradiation.
