Abstract: A controller for a hybrid electric vehicle executes an intake gas flow rate adjusting process, a motor-driven actuation process, a fuel vapor adjusting process, and a starting process. The intake gas flow rate adjusting process includes adjusting an opening degree of a throttle valve to an open state. The motor-driven actuation process includes controlling a motor-generator to perform motor-driven actuation of the internal combustion engine. The fuel vapor adjusting process includes adjusting an opening degree of a fuel vapor adjusting valve during the motor-driven actuation process, thereby allowing fuel vapor to flow through a fuel vapor passage. The starting process includes starting the internal combustion engine by controlling an ignition device to perform ignition during the motor-driven actuation process.

Abstract: An exhaust gas control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes: an SCR catalyst including transition metal ions for reducing NOX in exhaust gas with NH3 as a reducing agent; detection means for detecting temperature of the SCR catalyst; and a heater configured to heat the SCR catalyst. When NOX does not flow into the SCR catalyst, and the temperature detected by the detection means is below a first temperature that is a temperature causing exhibition of valence recovery of transition metal ions, the heater is controlled such that the SCR catalyst is heated up to a first temperature or above and that the SCR catalyst is maintained at or above the first temperature for a prescribed period so as to achieve valence recovery of the transition metal ions put in a deteriorated state.

Abstract: An exhaust purification system includes an electrochemical reactor provided in an engine exhaust passage; a bypass passage bypassing the electrochemical reactor; a flow control valve controlling an amount of exhaust gas, discharged from an engine body, flowing into the electrochemical reactor and the bypass passage; and a control device controlling the flow control valve. The electrochemical reactor includes a holding material holding NOX or HC and is configured so as to purify NOX or HC held at the holding material if encrgized. The control device controls the flow control valve so as to control the amount of exhaust gas flowing into the electrochemical reactor so that a temperature of the electrochemical reactor is maintained at less than a desorption start temperature where NOX or HC starts to be desorbed from the holding material.

Abstract: An exhaust gas control apparatus for an internal combustion engine for purifying exhaust gas discharged from an engine main body includes an exhaust gas control catalyst disposed in an exhaust gas passage of an internal combustion engine and capable of purifying a target component in the exhaust gas, an electrochemical reactor disposed in the exhaust gas passage on a downstream side in an exhaust flow direction of the exhaust gas control catalyst, and a control device for controlling energization of the electrochemical reactor. The electrochemical reactor is configured to purify the target component in the exhaust gas when energized. The control device controls the energization of the electrochemical reactor on the basis of an active parameter indicating an active state of the exhaust gas control catalyst and an air-fuel ratio parameter related to an air-fuel ratio of the inflow exhaust gas flowing into the electrochemical reactor.

Abstract: The NOx catalyst is irradiated with an electromagnetic wave, a resonance frequency and a ratio of a reception power to an oscillation power at the time of the irradiation are detected, and an upper limit value of a change amount of the resonance frequency or an upper limit value of a change amount of the ratio at which the NOx catalyst is diagnosed to be abnormal is determined from a change amount of the resonance frequency and a change amount of the ratio until water is adsorbed on all acid sites included in the NOx catalyst, and a change amount of the resonance frequency and a change amount of the ratio until ammonia is adsorbed on all acid sites included in the NOx catalyst, when it is supposed that the NOx catalyst is in a state of being on the borderline between normal and abnormal.

Abstract: An abnormality diagnosis apparatus for an exhaust gas control apparatus. The abnormality diagnosis apparatus includes: an adsorption amount detector which detects an actual adsorption amount that is an amount of ammonia actually adsorbed in a catalyst; and an electronic control unit configured to: i) estimate an estimated adsorption amount that is an ammonia adsorption amount in the catalyst on an assumption that an ammonia supply apparatus is normal; and ii) execute an abnormality diagnosis in which the ammonia supply apparatus is diagnosed as being abnormal, in a case where the estimated adsorption amount is equal to or smaller than a predetermined adsorption amount and where a difference between the estimated adsorption amount and the actual adsorption amount is larger than a threshold.
