摘要: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to providing visual cues on a steering apparatus of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes determining a difference between a current angle of a steering apparatus of a vehicle and a recommended angle of the steering apparatus. The method further includes illuminating a region of a grip of the steering apparatus based upon the difference and a position of a hand of an operator of the vehicle on the grip. The method additionally includes unilluminating the region as the steering apparatus is rotated from the current angle to the recommended angle.

摘要: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to steering a vehicle based on an intended yaw rate during loss of traction. In one arrangement, a method for steering a vehicle during loss of traction is disclosed. The method includes detecting a slipping tire of a vehicle losing traction with a road. The method also includes decoupling control of a pair of front tires of the vehicle by a steering wheel of the vehicle. The method also includes identifying an intended yaw rate for controlling the vehicle by detecting an angle of the steering wheel while the slipping tire does not have traction. The method further includes steering the vehicle separately from an input of a steering wheel of the vehicle to cause intended yaw rate.

摘要: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to communicating alerts about a recommended speed by adapting headlight color. In one embodiment, a method includes computing a recommended speed using an automated driving system (ADS) during an operator controlling a vehicle while the ADS is disengaged. The method also includes, responsive to determining that a vehicle speed satisfies a threshold associated with the recommended speed and an offset value set according to a driving environment, adapting an alert color projected by headlights of the vehicle according to the vehicle speed and the alert color is corrected for operator perception of visible colors associated with the driving environment.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for improved and intuitive adjustment of a vehicle headrest. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may include touch sensors and/or motion sensors to determine a driver or passenger intends to adjust a vehicle headrest. Upon detection of touch consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest and/or a hand gesture consistent with intent to adjust a vehicle headrest, a system may unlock a vehicle headrest. A driver or passenger may move the unlocked vehicle headrest into the desired position. Upon detection of a condition indicating the driver or passenger is finished and/or upon a set period of time elapsing, the system may re-lock the vehicle headrest into place. A vehicle headrest adjustment system may also include a power-assist function. The power-assist function may include motors and force sensors to assist a driver or passenger in moving a vehicle headrest into a desired position.

摘要: Systems, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to keeping a vehicle within a safety envelope. In one embodiment, a method includes determining a safety envelope having a boundary, determining a risk level for an environment surrounding the vehicle, and associating a torque value with a location within the safety envelope based on at least one of the risk level, a lateral velocity of the vehicle, and a relationship between the location and the boundary. The method includes, in response to the vehicle being located at the location and a torque being applied to a steering wheel of the vehicle, applying a counter torque of the torque value to the steering wheel.

摘要: Systems and methods of collaborative localization for a vehicle are provided. In particular, one or more vehicles that are able to localize themselves with high accuracy may transmit timestamped localization information (i.e. localization packets) to a nearby vehicles which lack high-accuracy localization sensors. Each localization packet may include the location of the transmitting vehicle with respect to a global reference frame. Upon receiving the localization packets, a vehicle may use radiolocation techniques to estimate its location relative to the transmitting vehicle(s). Based on this estimation and the information in the localization packets, the vehicle may then estimate its location with respect to the global reference frame with a high degree of accuracy.

摘要: A vehicle system including one or more sensors, a steering wheel including a rim and an adjusting mechanism for adjusting a coefficient of friction between a surface of the rim and a driver's hand, and a controller configured to determine whether a deviation factor between a target path and an actual path based on the one or more sensors exceeds a threshold deviation, send a first signal to the adjusting mechanism for operating to a first state in response to determining that the deviation factor exceeds the threshold deviation, the coefficient of friction being decreased when the adjusting mechanism is in the first state, and send a second signal to the adjusting mechanism for operating to a second state in response to determining that the deviation factor does not exceed the threshold deviation, the coefficient of friction being increased when the adjusting mechanism is in the second state.
