    摘要: A tuning methods of an External Cavity Laser Diode (ECLD), comprises steps of: (1) providing a laser light to a grating so as to tilt the grating to an optical axis of a collimated laser light, (2) adjusting the orientation of the grating relative to the collimated laser light, (3) monitoring singleness of longitudinal mode and optical power of a light emitted from the grating, (4) calculating an orientation of the grating to exhibit intended optical power at which the singleness of longitudinal mode shows at least predetermined value, (5) adjusting the grating orientation or the optical axis of the collimated laser light to the calculated grating orientation.

A correction for the molding face of the mold is made on the basis of the value obtained by the numerical analysis so that any error between the optical functional face of optical element molded by the mold at room temperature and the optical functional face set on design may fall within a tolerance, thereby determining the molding face adapted to the shape of the optical functional face set on design.

    摘要: An optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) having a light-emitting element, a branching section, a light-receiving section, and a processing section. The light-emitting element emits pulsating measuring light when driven. The branching section applies the measuring light emitted from the light-emitting element, to an optical fiber to be measured, and branches the light supplied from the optical fiber. The light-receiving section receives the light branched by the branching section and detects a level of the light received. The processing section detects a level of the light supplied from the optical fiber after the OTDR is connected to the optical fiber, while not driving the light-emitting element. The processing section drives the light-emitting element only when the level of the light received is equal to or lower than a preset value.
