A compact ice-making device is provided for making ice chips of varied shapes for use in glasses of whiskey and water, and the like purposes. Ice is made using an ice-making vessel (13) for making a plank-like block of ice with a shaft (18) inserted in advance in the vessel, the shaft (18) having ribs (18A) extending substantially radially from a rotating axis. Upon completion of the ice making, a gear unit (20) connected to the shaft (18) is driven by a motor to rotate the shaft (18), which cracks and divides the plank-like ice block into ice chips of varied shapes.
Abstract:
An ice tray includes a tray section and a heater. The tray section has a first face and a second face opposite to the first face. The first face temporarily retains water and the water is cooled to make ice. The heater is unitarily molded with the tray section at the second face, and warms the tray section for the ice to come off the tray section.

A driving-side rotator of a clutch has a connecting hole, within which a connecting portion of a rotatable shaft is loosely fitted while providing a space between the connecting hole and the connection portion. The connecting hole of the driving-side rotator is engageable with the connecting portion of the rotatable shaft in a rotational direction to integrally rotate with connecting portion of the rotatable shaft. Two positioning holes are provided in a brush holder, and two positioning projections are provided in a gear housing to allow direct positioning of the brush holder and the gear housing relative to each other.

In a geared motor, a worm wheel and an output gear are rotatably supported about and slidably engaged with a center shaft. A transmitting plate connected to the output gear transmits rotation from the worm wheel to the output gear. An O-ring is fitted around the center shaft. The O-ring is sealingly surrounded on four sides in a seal retaining portion defined by an outer peripheral surface of the center shaft, an inner peripheral surface of the transmitting plate, an end surface of an annular protrusion of the worm wheel and one end surface of the output gear.

A magneto-optical disc recording apparatus is constituted by a pre-output detection circuit, a post-output detecting circuit, a pre-output pulsing circuit, a post-output pulsing circuit, a logical operation circuit, a recording data memory circuit and a comparison operation circuit. An optical head is configured by arranging photodetectors in an array so that the light returned from the areas in the medium on which the laser beam is irradiated can be separately detected at two or more positions along the direction of advance of the laser beam.

An apparatus for optical master disk exposure for exposing guide grooves and pre-pits with laser beams has a reference signal generator which generates a reference signal for being supplied to a groove reference voltage generator that generates a groove reference voltage according to the reference signal. A pre-pit designation signal generator generates a pre-pit designation signal designating formation of the pre-pits. A pre-pit region voltage generator generates a pre-pit region voltage with a power of level of 70 to 75% of the groove reference voltage according to the pre-pit designation signal. A bias voltage generator generates a bias voltage with a power level of 80 to 90 of the groove reference voltage when no pre-pit is formed according to the pre-pit designation signal. A guide groove exposure voltage supplier adds together the groove reference voltage, the pre-pit region voltage and the bias voltage and outputs a guide groove exposure voltage to a laser beam modulating means which modulates the laser beams according to the guide groove exposure voltage received from the guide groove exposure voltage supplier. The guide grooves are uniformly formed thereby enabling the reduction of cross-talk.

A space probing apparatus is provided that can further enhance its thermal protective function for electronic apparatuses and batteries that are apparatuses each having a narrow range of permissible temperature.The space probing apparatus includes, as a vehicle body 1 that is an apparatus body, an inner housing 13 that accommodates an electronic apparatus 11 and a battery 12, and an outer housing 15 that accommodates the inner housing 13 supporting the inner housing 13 afloat therein. A thermal insulating layer 16 is formed between the inner housing 13 and the outer housing 15 using a space therebetween. A heat dissipating body 17 is included in an upper portion of the inner housing 13. A lid 18 is included in an upper portion of the outer housing 15. The whole outer faces of the inner and the outer housings 13 and 15 are each covered with a thermal insulating material 20. Thereby, in the nighttime, the temperature of the battery 12 is maintained using the least necessary amount of heat generated and, thereby, the electronic apparatus 11 and the battery 12 are protected from an ultralow temperature. In the daytime, the lid 18 is opened and heat is discharged using the heat dissipating body 17 and, thereby, the electronic apparatus 11 and the battery 12 are protected from a high temperature.

To provide a refrigerator including: a heat-insulating main body; a storage compartment defined in the heat-insulating main body; and a mist spray apparatus that sprays a fine mist into the storage compartment. The fine mist generated by the mist spray apparatus has a nano-size particle diameter and reduces microorganisms adhering to the inside of the storage compartment and to vegetable surfaces, the microorganisms including molds, bacteria, yeasts, and viruses.

A motor includes a motor unit and a speed reducing unit. The speed reducing unit has a gear housing. The gear housing includes a circuit board receiving portion and an opening that faces the motor unit. A control circuit board is received in the circuit board receiving portion through the opening in an axial direction of a rotatable shaft. When the motor unit is assembled to the speed-reducing unit, the control circuit board is clamped between the speed-reducing unit and a cover connected to the motor unit.
