摘要: A system to provide various content services based on a network to users includes a service provider to provide a service using the network, a user to receive the service, and a service framework to provide the service to the user through the network. The service framework includes a messenger device that manages the service transmitted between the service provider and the user. Content services, which are being provided based on a network, can be provided to various terminals including not only a PC and a mobile phone, but also a robot. Thus, extending services is easy and the user can conveniently receive desired information from a knowledge provider or website without performing repetitive operations.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a system which transmits an image using a lossless compression method in a robot to provide a service over a network and a method thereof. The network-based robot separates an image acquired by a stereo camera into various image formats and transmits the various image formats to a service server. The service server synthesizes the separated image formats to suit an image request such as face recognition, object recognition, navigation or monitoring to restore and provide an original image. When the network-based robot transmits the separated image formats to the server, the original image is transmitted using the lossless method to improve the performance of the server. Even when a service using a new image is added, separated images are transmitted with respect to the image format requested by this service to more flexibly cope with the service using the new image. Since channels are separated in order to receive lossless data, network gain is obtained.

摘要: A movable display apparatus, a robot having the movable display apparatus, and a display method thereof, and, more particularly, a display method of a robot having an apparatus to display an image according to a visual point of a user are provided. It is possible to provide a convenient extended image service, by movably mounting the apparatus to display the image according to the visual point of the user and mounting the movable display apparatus in the robot so as to accurately display the image according to the visual point of the user using the mobility and motion of the robot. In addition, it is possible to provide an image, which is viewed like a three-dimensional image, via a two-dimensional display apparatus, by changing the displayed image according to a variation in the sightline of the user.

摘要: A robot rotates frontward, rearward, clockwise, or counterclockwise such that a display device is matched with the eye position of a user. The robot includes a body, a display device, and at least one bending device. The display device includes a recognition unit to rotate about the body according to the position of the user. The recognition unit detects a position of a user. The bending device couples the body with the display device such that the body and the display device rotate frontward, rearward, clockwise, or counterclockwise according to a detection state of the recognition unit.

摘要: A client device, a control method thereof, and an image service system including the client service and the control method are disclosed. The client device includes an image capturing unit to capture an image, an encoding unit to encode the image captured by the image capturing unit into a JPEG format according to a group map that includes not only Frames Per Second (FPS) values required for types of a plurality of image services but also compression information for each frame image, and a client controller to determine not only the FPS satisfying the plurality of image services but also the compression information for each frame image, and control an operation of the encoding unit in such a manner that images captured by the image capturing unit are encoded according to the determined FPS and compression information. As a result, the client device differently encodes the quality of an image captured by a camera according to image service types, and reduces the file size of the encoded image, resulting in an increase in the transmission efficiency of image.
