摘要: The invention intends to downsize a general-purpose engine generator and make operability thereof easy. A backup battery (233) is provided for the generator (22). The battery supplies electricity to an electronic controlled device such as a fuel pump for starting the engine. When the engine (1) carries out a rating operation, electricity is supplied from the generator (22). When the engine speed in a low speed range, only a pump (15) is driven. When the engine speed is exceeds the low speed range, the pump (15) is stopped, and an injectors, (10) and (27) are driven to be prevented from lapping over each other. When the engine speed reaches a high-speed range, the pump (15) is again driven. Electricity consumption at a time of starting is restricted by driving the electronic controlled devices at different timings until the engine (1) operation becomes self-sustaining.

摘要: An operating condition of an outboard motor 1 is detected by an ECU 3, and then, is transmitted to a remote monitoring apparatus 6 using a mobile phone 5. The condition data transmission is made by only access from the outboard motor 1 side, therefore, security can be secured. When confirming a failure based on the condition data, the remote monitoring apparatus 6 decides the cause of failure by troubleshooting, and then, give information about measures to a boat 2 equipped with the outboard motor 1. Troubleshooting is carried out by acquiring a program from a server of maker, and the cause of failure is transmitted to the server so as to be stored as user information. The remote monitoring apparatus 6 orders necessary maintenance parts so as to improve quickness of maintenance.

摘要: An oil level detection apparatus having a float-type oil level detector (50) and a mode switching unit. The oil level detector emits a signal indicating that the oil level has dropped when a movable contact disposed on a float (54) makes contact with fixed contacts once the level of oil (Lu) has dropped to a lower limit level. The mode switching unit switches between one of two modes selected from a first mode for actuating the alarm and stopping the engine (10) in accordance with the level drop signal, and a second mode for actuating the alarm and continuing to operate the engine (10) in accordance with the level drop signal.

摘要: In a general-purpose internal combustion engine connectable to operating machines such as a snowplow, a washing machine and a wood chipper having an electronic control unit that controls operation of the operating machine when connected, there are provided a signal output terminal that is installed in the electronic control unit and outputs a signal generated by the electronic control unit to the operating machine and a signal selector constituted by a personal computer that selects a signal to be outputted by the signal output terminal from among signals in response to manipulation by an operator. The engine can be easily connected with any operating machine without a complicated electronic control unit, thereby improving versatility and convenience.

摘要: In an auto-choke system for a general-purpose engine, it is determined whether the operator has operated a combination switch to enable ignition in the engine and based on the result of this determination, the operation of a choke motor (actuator) is controlled to regulate the opening of the choke valve, specifically the operation of the choke motor is controlled to fully open the choke valve when ignition is found to be disabled. As a result, jetting of fuel is minimized and flooding prevented when the recoil starter is manipulated with ignition disabled. In addition, the operation of the choke motor is controlled to fully close the choke valve when ignition is found to be enabled, thereby enhancing the starting performance of the engine.

摘要: In a failure detection system of coils that produce outputs in response to rotation of a crankshaft of a general-purpose engine (including a power coil that produces an output indicative of the engine speed), the outputs produced by the coils are inputted to determine whether the coils produce the outputs, and it is discriminated that one of the coils (i.e., power coil) has failed when the coil does not produce the output, thereby enabling detection of failure such as wire breaking of the power coil and preventing overrunning of the engine and other such problems.
