    摘要: A cold charge duct, a system and method are provided for removing and controlling the reintroduction of a condensate in diesel or gasoline engine intake air. The duct may include an exterior wall which may define a passage configured to pass air from a turbocharger to an engine. The exterior wall may have one or more openings, and a separator formed to be substantially flush with an inner surface of the external wall. In this way, it is possible to utilize an edge-based separator to generate a sudden decrease in the flow rate thereby causing a water condensate to drop into the openings for later reintroduction into the engine.

    摘要: An engine ignition control device comprising: a start-up ignition controller having a function for preventing the occurrence of kickback by either delaying an ignition position of an engine or stopping ignition; start-up rotation angle detection means for detecting a rotation angle of a crankshaft of the engine after initiation of a start-up operation of the engine; and switching means for switching control specifics of the start-up ignition controller in accordance with the detected start-up rotation angle so that when the detected start-up rotation angle is less than a set angle, there is created a kickback-preventive effect within a range at which engine startability is not compromised, and when the detected start-up rotation angle is equal to or greater than the set angle, there is created a kickback-preventive effect that is greater than the kickback-preventive effect for when the start-up rotation angle is equal to or less than the set angle.

    摘要: An inlet valve includes a valve head including a valve surface located at a circumferential edge portion, and a single annular circumferential edge groove disposed radially inside and close to the valve surface in the circumferential edge portion. When intake air (an airflow) proceeds along a surface of the valve head and reaches the circumferential edge portion, only a portion thereof (a partial airflow) enters the circumferential edge groove and the remaining thereof (remaining partial airflow) passes by the circumferential edge groove. As the intake air (the partial airflow) having entered the circumferential edge groove forms a turbulent flow, the intake air surrounds the circumferential edge portion of the valve head and reaches below the circumferential edge portion of the valve head, thereby achieving an increase in volume of air taken into a combustion chamber. Further, because only a portion of intake air enters the circumferential edge groove, it is possible to suppress and minimize flow resistance applied to air taken into the combustion chamber from an inlet port.

    摘要: The present invention generally relates to a new valve guide for use in an exhaust valve system. Specifically, the invention is related to a valve guide that prevents acidic corrosion between the valve and the valve guide. The valve guide includes a number of contact portions, which engage the channel that is formed in the cylinder head near the exhaust port. The valve guide also includes a recess portion, situated in relation to a water jacket and between the contact portions. The recess portion and contact portions are sized and shaped to maintain the surface temperature of the valve guide to prevent condensation of acidic gases between the valve stem and the valve guide.

    摘要: In an engine which starts using a recoil starter, ignition chance during inertia rotation is not missed. If the engine 42 is rotated by the recoil starter 41, output of a power generator which is directly connected to the engine 42 is increased, and a CPU 27 is reset at timing t0. At timing t1, if pulse P1 is input from a revolution number sensor 29 to the CPU 27, the CPU 27 outputs first ignition instructions when predetermined time T1 is elapsed (t2). At timing t3, second pulse P2 is input. At that time point, since the CPU 27 is normally operated, ignition timing is obtained from an ignition timing map 30 in accordance with the revolution number calculated by a time interval between the pulses P1 and P2, and the ignition instructions are output at timing t4 in accordance with the ignition timing. Thereafter, the ignition timing is determined using the ignition timing map 30.

    摘要: An engine valve, formed of a titanium alloy, enables improvement of reliability and productivity while improving creep resistance and fatigue strength at a high temperature. The engine valve, including a stem section and a bevel section provided at one end of the stem section, is integrally formed of the titanium alloy. A portion of the valve, extending from the bevel section to a medial portion of the valve stem, is formed mainly of a needle-like crystallographic texture. Another portion of the valve, extending from the medial section to the other end of the stem section, is formed of a material having a substantially equiaxed crystallographic texture. A boundary between the needle-like texture and the equiaxed texture is provided in a range of sliding movement of the valve relative to a valve guide that slidably guides the stem section within the cylinder head.
