The present invention provides blue colored flakes which are free from agglomeration of the ultramarine particles, and when incorporated in a cosmetic, a coating material, or the like, they are free from rough feeling, and give good use feeling such as good spread on the skin as well as good spread on a base plate, and exhibit beautiful color tone. The blue colored flakes comprise, as a mother material, a transparent metal oxide such as silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide and, incorporated therein in a dispersed state, 5 to 60% by mass of ultramarine particles having a particle diameter of 30 to 3000 nm. The blue colored flakes have an average particle diameter of 5 to 500 μm, an average thickness of 0.1 to 5 μm, and an average aspect ratio of 5 to 300.

The present invention is a low reflection glass article which is prepared by laminating a first layer which has a middle refractive index (n1) from 1.60 to 1.95 and has a film thickness of (60 to 130 nm)/n1, a second layer which has a high refractive index (n2) which is in a range from 1.91 to 2.60 and higher than the refractive index of said first layer by at least 0.20 and has a film thickness of (140 to 230 nm)/n2, and a third layer which has a low refractive index (n3) which is in a range from 1.35 to 1.59 and lower than the refractive index of said first layer by at least 0.20 and has a film thickness of (110 to 150 nm)/n3 in this order on a transparent glass substrate having a refractive index from 1.47 to 1.53, wherein said second layer contains titanium oxide and other metal oxides in an amount of 70 mol % or more in total, said third layer contains a silicon oxide in an amount from 50 to 100 mol % and said metal oxides in an amount from 0 to 10 mol % in total, and said first layer contains a silicon oxide in an amount from 15 to 80 mol % and said metal oxides in an amount from 20 to 70 mol % in total. According to the present invention, there can be provided a low reflection glass article coated with an optical multi-layer film which can reduce the reflectivity in wide visible light range.

A process for producing flakes of glass. The process is started by applying a solution containing an organic metal compound to a substrate. The solution is dried and peeled from the substrate. The resultant film is sintered. There is also disclosed an apparatus for producing flakes of glass. The apparatus comprises means 2 for applying solution 1 containing an organic metal compound to a substrate 3 taking the form of a loop, means 4 for drying the film created by the solution containing the organic metal compound, and means 5 for collecting flakes obtained by peeling the dried film from the substrate. The substrate forms a circulatory continuous conveyance path which passes through the applying means, the drying means, and the collecting means in succession.

By using the flaky particles to be contained, a cosmetic or the like capable of giving good usability such as spreading well on the skin, exhibiting bright and clear appearance for long period is provided. The flaky particles comprise mother particles of metallic oxide of low refractive index and microparticles of metallic oxide of high refractive index having a mean particle size of 160-450 nm dispersed inside the mother particles in an amount of 5-50% by weight, wherein the flaky particles have a light diffusion degree of 80 or more. The flaky particles preferably have a mean particle size of 5-500 μm, a mean thickness of 0.1-5 μm, and a mean aspect ratio of 5-300.

At least the opening surface side surface and the inner side surface which serves as a waveguide path of the feedhorn are plated with metal. At least the inner side surface of the support case positioned between the inner wall of the feedhorn and a ground pattern of the circuit board is plated with metal. Further, the cross-sectional surface of a corner section surrounded by two or more wall surfaces of the metal-plated sections of the feedhorn and the support case is formed into an arc shape so as not to allow an air space to be formed at the time of plating.
