Correction coefficient generating circuitry corrects the amplitude component of the activation current wave from by forming correction coefficient &bgr; (t) of the activation current so as to cancel the electromagnetic force harmonic component in the diametric direction which component is the component of the circular ring oscillation of the stator.

A stepless speed changing function which permits vehicular operation in a high engine efficiency region while minimizing an electrical energy loss is realized by a small-sized transmission using small-sized motors. The vehicle, which uses the transmission, can be operated in a high engine efficiency region while keeping an electrical energy loss to a minimum.

Six sections are judged based on the values v.sub..alpha.r and v.sub..beta.r to select phases for which it is allowable to stop pulse width modulation control in a two-phase switching method. Then, a phase having the largest absolute value of current is selected among the phases for which it is allowable to stop pulse width modulation control using a U-phase current i.sub.u and a V-phase current i.sub.v. This information is a control mode S. Based on these, two-phase switching calculations are performed by a dead-time compensation calculation means and a pulse width modulation generating means. The drive system according to the present invention is characterized in that, in a electric vehicle to be driven by the wheels which are driven by the rotary output of two or more motors, said two or more motors comprise at least two different types of motors, and the system is provided with the control means to adjust the share of the vehicle driving force to be generated by each of said motors in conformity to the running state of said vehicle. These two or more motors comprise a combination of a low speed drive motor and high speed drive motor, and a highly efficient motor is used as said low speed motor, while a motor having a greater capacity and greater base speed than said low speed drive motor is used as the high speed drive motor. The share of the driving force of said vehicle is controlled by the control means such that up to the maximum torque is generated by said low speed drive motor, with the remaining torque generated by said high speed drive motor.

In a motor having a pawl-shaped magnetic pole, if a coil is wound like a ring shape so as to be formed, one leader line can be generally drawn out to an external portion from a position close to an outer periphery of a stator, however, the other leader line is drawn out to the external portion from an inner periphery of the stator. Accordingly, the leader line occupies a part of the inner space formed by the stator core, so that there is generated a problem that a space factor of the coil is reduced. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to improve the space factor of the coil. In order to achieve the object mentioned above, a space passing wirings of a plurality of coils therethrough is provided in a part of the pawl-shaped magnetic pole of the stator core of the stator having the pawl-shaped magnetic pole. Accordingly, one of leader lines of the coil is drawn out from an outer peripheral portion (or an opposite side to a side facing to the rotor) of the stator, and the other is drawn out in an axial direction from the space of the claw-shaped magnetic pole of the stator. Therefore, it is possible to do away with an influence by the leader line, it is possible to increase a winding number of the coil even in the same space, and it is possible to improve a downsizing of the motor.
