摘要: The invention relates to a method of activating an optical communication system comprising a plurality of optical amplifiers having an optical amplifier, between optical transmission lines in which wavelength-division multiplex optical signals are transmitted. The method comprises steps of: generating a desired slope in a desired wavelength range of a gain wavelength curve of the optical amplifier; adjusting an output of the optical amplifier to a desired output level; performing the above two steps in a plurality of optical repeater stations, the steps being carried out in sequence from the first to the last optical repeater stations; and adjusting a level in each optical signal in the wavelength-division multiplex optical signal so as to have substantially constant optical signal-to-noise ratios in the optical signals to be received. Activating the optical communication system according to this procedure allows proper execution of gain slope compensation, output control, and pre-emphasis control.

摘要: A multi-layer film having an intermediate layer containing, as a main component, a mixture of two kinds of specific linear low density polyethylenes, and innermost and outermost layers containing, as a main component, a mixture of a specific high pressure process polyethylene, a specific ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer and a specific linear low density polyethylene. The film has an automatic packaging machine applicability and an excellent heat sealability at low temperatures without defects such as lowering of tuck in property, stretchability in the transverse direction and film slipping property and blocking, and is suitably employed as films for stretch packaging and shrink packaging which are used for prepackaging of retailed goods, mainly foods. Further, a multi-layer film prepared by incorporating a specific surfactant composition into at least two layers of the above multi-layer film has, in addition to these properties, an excellent antifogging effect (initial antifogging property and retainability of antifogging property) on various objects to be packaged.

摘要: A heat-resisting coating composition prepared by binding with modified silicone resin added with an aluminium chelate compound, pulverized inorganic material principally including a mixture of powder containing one kind selected from a group consisting of aluminium phosphate, zinc molybdate and calcium carbonate or a mixture of them, cleaving scale-shaped powder principally containing aluminium silicate or magnesium silicate, and metallic zinc powder; reveals excellent rust-preventing performance in a temperature range spreading from a low temperature to a high temperature, as a heat-resisting painting material for use on an exhaust pipe connected with a motor car engine. Upon applying said heat-resisting coating composition onto a metal surface, it is effective for enhancing adhesion to preliminarily form a group of fine protrusions having "turn-rounds" on the metal surface.

摘要: The present invention discloses a fault indicator circuit in a system having a plurality of circuit blocks each provided with an individual power source. Each of the circuit blocks needs to indicate a fault when a fault occurs in the individual power source of the circuit block. The fault indicator circuit of the present invention includes a fault indicator which performs fault indication in response to a fault indication control signal from the circuit block having the fault or one of the other circuit blocks. When a fault occurs in the individual power source of a circuit block, the fault indicator performs fault indication by means of power supplied from the individual power source of one of the other circuit blocks. An input determiner which reduces the level of the fault indicator control signal outputted from one of the other circuit blocks is disposed at the input terminal of a gate circuit into which the fault indication control signal is inputted from one of the other circuit blocks. Thus, the fault indicator of each circuit block can be prevented from being wrongly activated due to a fault in the individual power source of one of the other circuit blocks.

摘要: A hologram of an increased size using a single color laser, capable of executing a full color regeneration in a desired view angle and a method for producing the hologram. A plurality of photo-sensitive members are independently exposed to obtain respective holograms, which are connected by using an adhesive layer 80 constructing a connecting means, in order to obtain an integrated hologram expanded in two-dimensional direction. The holograms are obtained by an interference of a reference light 22 and an object light passed through a light diffusing body 24 in order to cause the light diffusing body 24 to be recorded on the photo-sensitive member. The size of the light diffusing body 24 is such that the spectral characteristic of the diffused light from the hologram can attain a desired efficiency at least over the entire wavelength range of the visible light.

摘要: An apparatus synthesizes the image of a viewer and a second image into a synthesized image and displays the synthesized image. The apparatus is capable of aligning the line of sight of the viewer with the line of sight of the displayed image of the viewer and correctly reproducing colors on the synthesized image. The apparatus has a transparent hologram screen (15) on which a diffuser is recorded, a camera (25) for imaging a viewer (81) through the hologram screen, a synthesizer (28) for synthesizing the image of the viewer and a second image into a synthesized image, and a projector (11) for projecting signal light (31) containing the synthesized image onto the hologram screen. In place of the synthesizer, a display unit may be arranged behind the viewer. The hologram screen (15) may be combined with a mirror or a half-mirror.
