摘要: A curl control system applicable to an electrophotographic copier for sensing the conditions of curls of a paper being transported and correcting the curls includes a curl sensing device and a curl correcting device. Two distance sensor units illuminate the paper and receive a reflection from the paper to sense the amount and direction of curl of the paper. A paper size sensor is provided for sensing the size of the paper. The curl correcting device corrects the curls on the basis of the amount and direction of curl sensed. The curl correcting device may be implemented in the device in many fashions.

摘要: The present specification relates to a semiconductor device in which a metal plate is attached onto a surface of a resin package, and provides a structure in which the metal plate is not easy to separate. The semiconductor device disclosed in the present specification includes semiconductor chips (IGBT, diode), a resin package molding the semiconductor chips, and metal plates fixed onto the surface of the resin package. An anchoring member is bridged between two points on a back face of the metal plate. A space between one of the metal plates and the anchoring member is filled with a molding resin of the resin package. The anchoring member firmly bites the resin package, and therefore, the metal plate is difficult to be released from the resin package.

摘要: In a method for heat treatment of an existing pipe constituting a piping system, for converting the residual stress at a welded metallic portion and a welding heat influenced portion of the inside surface of the pipe, into a compressive stress and thereby generate the compressive stress in the inside surface of the existing pipe, a coolant is retained in the pipe; an arbitrary portion of the outside surface of the pipe is heated; thereby a temperature distribution little in temperature difference is produced in the wall surface of the pipe at the heated portion; and then the coolant is allowed to flow. By converting the residual stress at the welded metallic portion and the welding heat influenced portion of the inside surface of the pipe, into the compressive stress, stress corrosion cracking generated from the welded metallic portion and the welding heat influenced portion can be suppressed.

摘要: A light emitting device is disclosed which includes a semiconductor block, an active layer disposed in such a fashion as to penetrate through the mutually facing end surfaces of the semiconductor block, and an electrode disposed on the main plane of the semiconductor block, wherein the electrode consists of a first electrode portion disposed along the active layer, and a second electrode portion continuing integrally the first electrode portion and having the periphery thereof out of contact from the periphery of the second main plane of the semiconductor block. A current is caused to uniformly flow through the entire active layer, and a light emitting operation is carried out stably. Since the electrode is not disposed on the periphery of the semiconductor block, the occurrence of junction short-curcuit, which might otherwise occur when a wafer is cut off to produce laser chips or when the corners of the chip break off, can be reduced.

摘要: A paper refeeding device incorporated in an image forming apparatus for temporarily stacking paper sheets each coming out of an image forming section and carrying an image on one side on a refeed tray and, then, refeeding the paper sheets to the image forming section. An air velocity switching mechanism causes an air knife to blow air at a breeze velocity or a zero velocity which does not lift the paper sheets stacked on the refeed tray, until more than a predetermined number of paper sheets have been discharged by discharge rollers and stacked on the refeed tray.
