    摘要: Systems and methods for independently upgradeable docking stations are discussed herein. One or more chipsets of a docking station may provide services to a host device, and each may use a corresponding firmware. The docking station may receive chipset firmware update data for one or more of the chipsets. In a first case, this data is received from a universal serial bus (USB) storage device (which in some cases can independently update its copy of the chipset firmware update data with a cloud server). In other cases, this data is received from a cloud server using a network interface system on a chip (which may be internal to, or separately connected to, the docking station). The docking station performs this receipt and/or the corresponding firmware update with no input from any host device that may (or may not) be attached, and/or without interrupting chipset services of any such host device.

    摘要: A conferencing device includes a power supply, a processor, a video out module, and a USB hub in communication with the processor and drawing power from the power supply. The conferencing device is configured to provide power from the power supply to an external host device in communication with the USB hub, receive control signals and video data from the external host device, and place video data from the external host device at a video out port of the conferencing device. Embodiments herein discuss the switching between and/or simultaneous presentation of video data for placement at the video out port as between two or more external host devices connected to the conferencing device based on the control signals sent from the external host devices. The conferencing device may be connected to another conferencing device to create a single logical conferencing device that can handle an expanded number of external host devices.

    摘要: Docking systems for electronic devices including displays are disclosed. An example docking system includes a first housing, a port hub and an integrated or detachable holder. The first housing includes a first surface that receives a first device, a second surface opposite to the first surface and a pad disposed on the second surface at proximity to a side of the second surface. The port hub may include a power inlet and a data input/output port. The power inlet receives a power supply voltage and further provides the power supply voltage to the first device. The data input/output port may receive data signals and may further provide the received data signals to the first device. The holder securing a second housing to the pad may include a hinge that pivotally adjusts an angle between the first housing and the second housing. The second housing may receive a second device.

    摘要: Power adapters having Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C (USB-C) receptacles acting in a USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) sink mode are disclosed herein. The USB-C receptacle can be connected to a USB-PD source via a USB-C cable. The power adapter further includes a socket in electrical communication with the USB-C receptacle that receives a removable (interchangeable) barrel plug of a size corresponding to the barrel receptacle of an output device to be powered by the power adapter. The power adapter uses a USB-PD controller to communicate with the USB-PD source via the USB-C receptacle to request that power be provided at a desired direct current (DC) voltage by the USB-PD source to the USB-C receptacle. The power so received is then delivered between the USB-C receptacle and the socket. From the socket, the power travels through the attached removable barrel plug and to the barrel receptacle of the output device.
