摘要： A method and system for deriving a travel distance of an object which travels. As one aspect, a travel velocity of the object producing a pulse signal in response to travel of the object on the basis of a number of pulses of the pulse signal per unit time is calculated, and a plurality of unit travel distances corresponding to a plurality of travel states of the object every travel state are calculated. The plurality of travel states are different from each other and the unit travel distance is a travel distance per pulse calculated by dividing the calculated travel velocity by the number of the pulses of the pulse signal per unit time. And the plurality of calculated unit travel distances are memorized individually, from the plurality of memorized unit travel distances, the unit travel distance corresponding to the travel state of the object which is under travel is selected, and the travel distance of the object on the basis of the selected unit travel distance and the pulse signal is derived.

摘要： A library apparatus having a motor driving control circuit including a processor, a motor driver circuit, a relay, a motor abnormal condition detection circuit, a current control circuit, an excess current detection circuit, and an abnormal current monitor circuit. The motor abnormal condition detection circuit is connected to the motor driver circuit, and detects an abnormal condition of at least one of the motor and the motor driver circuit. Upon detecting an abnormal condition, the motor abnormal condition detection circuit outputs a motor abnormal condition detection signal which prompts the current control circuit to regulate the current flowing through the motor driver circuit. If the current control circuit is unsuccessful, the excess current detection circuit outputs an excess current detection signal which triggers the relay to close the power source circuit of the motor driver circuit.

摘要： A magnetic tape apparatus for controlling a running of magnetic tape, and being able to control a cleaning medium to clean a magnetic head. The apparatus including a feed reel shaft and a take-up reel shaft respectively adapted to hold a feed reel and a take-up reel of the cleaning medium; a magnetic head; a control part controlling the feed reel shaft and the take-up reel shaft so as to reel the cleaning medium; and a cleaning section determining part determining a cleaning section on the cleaning medium that is used for a single cleaning step of the magnetic head. The control part controls the feed reel shaft and the take-up reel shaft to clean the magnetic head for the cleaning section by the cleaning medium. Additionally, the control part reduces a tension of the cleaning medium more than that applying in a normal running by independently controlling the feed reel and the take-up reel when the control part runs the cleaning medium to the cleaning section determined by the cleaning section determining part.
