    摘要: A strip-shaped fusible member is disposed in a slit formed in an electrically insulating member to be not greater than 1 mm in width. Further a granulated electrically insulating material may be charged around the electrically insulating member within an enclosed housing. Alternatively, a plurality of electrically insulating members may alternate in intimate contact relationship fusible member to form a stack. Each fusible member is connected at both ends to two terminal blocks located on the opposite sides of the stack on those portions higher in level than that portion thereof sandwiched between the insulating members while its end portions are slackened.

    摘要: A switchgear comprises in a housing containing an arc extinguishing gas, a pair of separable contacts defining therebetween an arcing region in which an electric arc is generated when the contacts are separated. A cylindrical wall and an insulating nozzle are provided for defining a gas storage chamber around the stationary contact communicated with the arcing region for storing the arc extinguishing gas increased in pressure by heat from the arc. The insulating nozzle defines an opening through which the movable contact movably extends and through which the pressurized arc extinguishing gas flows. Around the arcing region a magnet is disposed for generating a magnetic field in the opening of the gas storage chamber for rotating and elongating the electric arc generated in the arcing region upon current interruption.

The commutation electrode 15 has a first plate 15A extending parallel to the surface of the fixed contact 8A and spaced a prescribed distance from the fixed contact member 8, a second plate 15B extending parallel to the surface of the fixed contact 8A and positioned between the surface 6C of the movable contact member 6 to which no movable contact 6A is joined and the fixed contact member 8 at the time the movable contact 6A and the fixed contact 8A are separated, a third plate 15C connecting the first and second plates 15A, 15B to each other, a fourth plate 15D extending from the second plate 15B in the direction in which the movable contact 6A is separated, and a recess 15E defined in a portion confronting the movable contact 6A and extending from said second plate 15B to the third plate 15C and from the second plate 15B to the fourth plate 15D, whereby the arc can quickly be transferred to the commutation electrode 15.

    摘要: An electromagnetic contactor in which an arc extinguishing chamber is defined by an insulating base and a box attached removably to the insulating base. In the arc extinguish chamber, there are accommodated fixed contact elements having fixed contacts, a movable contact element having a movable contact adapted to be brought into and out of contact with the fixed contacts of the fixed contact elements, a commutation electrode for receiving arcs established when the movable contact comes out of contact with the fixed contacts, arc extinguish metal plates for extinguishing arcs commutated to the commutation electrode, and an extinguishing plate support for supporting the arc extinguishing plates. The extinguishing plate support is formed with a groove or hole for receiving the end portion of the commutation plate so that it is held on the commutation electrode. By elastically clamping the commutation electrode between the inner wall faces of the box defining the arc extinguishing chamber, the extinguishing plate support is held in the arc extinguishing chamber by the commutation electrode.

The arc generated when the movable contact 6 is separated from the fixed contact 14 can be transferred at high speed toward the slit 16, 19 by a current produced in the commutation electrode 3.

    摘要: An electromagnetic contactor in which at least one pair of contacts which disengage from each other to interrupt a current are provided in an arc-extinguishing chamber defined by a partition wall of electrically insulating material. An absorbing member of porous metal is provided on the inner surface of the partition wall to absorb molten metal particles which are formed by arcing at the time of disengagement of the contacts. A shield plate of electrically insulating material is provided on the inner surface of the absorbing member, and through-holes are formed in the partition wall of the arc-extinguishing chamber and the shield plates in such a manner that the through-holes of the partition wall are non coincident in position with those of the shield plate so that the absorbing member is protected from damage.
