Abstract: Provided are compositions and methods that include a CasY transactivating noncoding RNA (trancRNA) (referred to herein as a “CasY trancRNA”), nucleic acids encoding the CasY trancRNA, and/or a modified host cell comprising the CasY trancRNA (and/or a nucleic acid encoding the same).
