The apparatus includes: at least one ultrasonic sensor, which radiates/receives ultrasonic measuring signals at an angle of incidence/emergence into/out-of the pipeline; and a control/evaluation unit which provides, based on the ultrasonic measuring signals, information concerning volume- and/or mass-flow of the medium through the pipeline. The ultrasonic sensor includes at least one sound-producing element, a coupling shoe and a coupling adapter. The end region of the coupling adapter facing the coupling shoe has a securement mechanism for releasable securement of the coupling adapter to the coupling shoe. The end region of the coupling adapter facing the pipeline is embodied as a function of the pipeline in such a manner that it is form-fittingly securable to the pipeline.

At least two ultrasonic sensors are included, which are secured in a defined measuring positional relationship on the outer wall of the pipeline and alternately emit and receive ultrasonic measuring signal. A control/evaluation unit, which determines volume- and/or mass-flow of the medium in the pipeline on the basis of the travel time difference of ultrasonic measuring signals in the stream direction and opposite to the stream direction is also provided. For assuring rapid mounting and demounting of the ultrasonic flow measuring device on a pipeline, the at least two ultrasonic sensors are secured on a pliers-like clamping unit, which is embodied in a manner such that the ultrasonic sensors are brought into a measuring positional relationship by simple clamping onto the pipeline.

Temperature-control fluid flows through the heat exchanger (30), at least at times during operation, for the purpose of transporting heat. The heat exchanger (30) has an inner wall (32), especially a trough- or dish-shaped inner wall, contacting the inline measuring device (1) externally at least partially flushly, as well as an outer wall (31) fixed to the inner wall (32). The outer wall (31) is connected with the inner wall (32) via a connecting seam (90) running along an edge region and sealing against escape of the temperature-control fluid, and via a plurality of, especially point, or ring, shaped, inner connection locations (80), which are arranged spaced from one another in an inner region at least partially enclosed by the edge connection seam (90).
