摘要: Bisphenol-A is purified in a process which comprises the following steps: a) cooling a liquid mixture comprising bisphenol-A and water in a bisphenol-A crystallizer to form bisphenol-A crystals in a liquid phase; b) separating the bisphenol-A crystals from the liquid phase; c) dividing at least a portion of the liquid phase into a bisphenol-rich organic phase and a water-rich phase; d) feeding phenol and at least a portion of the bisphenol-rich organic phase into a adduct crystallizer to form a crystalline adduct of phenol and bisphenol-A in a mother liquor, and e) separating the crystalline adduct from the mother liquor. Bisphenol-A of high purity at a high yield is obtained.

摘要: In accordance with the present invention, a phonation valve which is cooperatively connectable to a breathing tube connected to a patient's airway, includes a valve body having first and second ends through which gas passes into and out of the valve. The first end is connectable to the breathing tube for passage of gas between the breathing tube and the valve. A valve seat is located within the valve body between the first and second ends. A thin, flexible diaphragm is provided, which is seated against the valve seat when the patient exhales. The diaphragm has a comfort-improving structural feature which can be 1) a shape which is at least partly concave on a side of the diaphragm facing the seat, and/or 2) a web of substantially uniform thickness with a plurality of discrete areas of different thicknesses dispersed around the web, which are capable of damping resonance vibration of the diaphragm during breathing by the patient.

摘要: An apparatus and method of employing modified twist-to-engage bolts that attach a photovoltaic (PV) module to an extrusion rail or channel within a rail are disclosed. In addition to a modified twist-to-engage bolt (e.g., “t-bolt”), a complementary bracket portion having alignment tabs locks in place and clamps the modules to the rail. The anti-rotation locking system prevents twist-to-engage bolts from disengaging without the removal of the complementary bracket.

摘要: Example embodiments of the present disclosure provide techniques for improving the rendering and management of client desktops and the subsequent transmission to the remote client. The techniques may minimize the movement of frame data within the server, the amount of data to be compressed, the amount of data transmitted over the network, and the amount of data to be decompressed. Various embodiments are disclosed for merging rendering functions and encoding functions onto the same chip so that frame data does not need to be transferred, calculation of a tile-based checksum for determining which tiles have changed from frame to frame, the dropping of tiles waiting to be transmitted if network bandwidth or decode speed is limiting the transmission and an equivalent tile in a subsequent frame is available to replace it, and the transfer of the frame buffer into the chip from an external GPU using one of three modes.

摘要: An RF electronic component for mounting on a substrate includes a housing; and at least one electronic device having an input and/or output incorporated in the housing. At least one input/output terminal connects to a connection pad on the substrate; and an electrical transition provides an electrical connection between the input/output terminal and an input/output of an electronic device incorporated in the electronic component. The electrical transition comprises a side termination at least partially located on an outer surface of the housing; and an array of conductive through holes formed inside the housing at an offset from the side termination. The array is arranged so that the axes of the through holes are substantially mutually parallel and coplanar, and the array of through holes is connected to form a ground plane at the offset from the side termination.

摘要: Described is a technique to exhaustively enumerate the thermodynamic properties of the water molecules solvating the active site of a protein in its apostate and calculate the relative binding affinities of congeneric compounds that bind to this protein. The subject matter includes sampling the configurations of the solvating water in the active site; extracting the thermodynamic information about the solvating water from these configurations by clustering the observed water configurations into regions of high water occupancy (e.g., “hydration sites”), computing the average system interaction energies of water molecules occupying the various hydrations sites, computing excess entropies of water molecules occupying the hydration sites; constructing a 3 dimensional hydration thermodynamics map of the protein active site; and computing relative binding affinities of congeneric ligands based on the principle that tighter binding ligands can displace more entropically structured and energetically depleted hydration sites from the active site into the bulk fluid.
