摘要: Systems and techniques for neural network training are described herein. A training set may be received for a neural network. Here, the neural network may comprise a set of nodes arranged in layers and a set of inter-node weights between nodes in the set of nodes. The neural network may then be iteratively trained to create a trained neural network. An iteration of the training may include generating a random unit vector, creating an update vector by calculating a magnitude for the random unit vector based on a degree that the random unit vector matches a gradient—where the gradient represented by a dual number, and updating a parameter vector for an inter-node weight by subtracting the update vector from a previous parameter vector of the inter-node weight. The trained neural network may then be used to classify data.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to the detection of coughs and coughing episodes using acoustic signals. In various examples, an implantable medical device processes an acoustic signal obtained from an acoustic sensor to determine whether a patient has coughed. In some examples, the implantable medical device also performs a cough severity assessment. In some examples, the cough severity assessment may include a determination of the depth of the cough, the duration of the coughing episode, or whether the cough was wet or dry.

摘要: A biologic intervention method and apparatus generates a persistent modification to an AV node that is physiologically stable after the agent has matured but is alterable with subsequent application of an agent. Specifically, the generic agent is used to modulate a node in a cardiac conduction system including rate control using one and a combination of a family of K+ channel or equivalent. Specifically, the channel is implemented to slow conduction by generating an outward current during optimization of action potential and repolarization phase thus decreasing the current that is available to excite downstream cells. A Kv 1.3 channel, for example, may be used as the biologic channel. The invention enables reversal of the modulation or adjustment for various heart rates (BPM) based on medical and patient-specific needs.

摘要: The method may include administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of an HCN polynucleotide. The HCN polynucleotide includes a nucleotide sequence encoding an HCN polypeptide having channel activity. The amino acid sequence of the HCN polypeptide and the amino acid sequence of a reference polypeptide have at least 80% identity, where the reference polypeptide begins with an amino acid selected from amino acids 92-214 and ends with an amino acid selected from amino acids 723-1188 of SEQ ID NO:8. An example of a reference polypeptide is amino acids 214-723 of SEQ ID NO:8. The HCN polynucleotide may be DNA or RNA.

摘要: A hard disk drive using a micro-actuator assembly to position a slider over a track on a rotating disk surface. The micro-actuator assembly includes a first piezoelectric device and a second piezoelectric device, both mechanically coupled to the slider. The first piezoelectric device includes a first terminal electrically coupled to a first voltage line and a second terminal electrically coupled to a ground line. The second piezoelectric device includes a third terminal electrically coupled to a ground line and a fourth terminal electrically coupled to a voltage line. A voltage applied to the first voltage line stimulates only the first piezoelectric device to alter a lateral position of the slider over the rotating disk surface, and a second voltage applied to the second voltage line stimulates only the second piezoelectric device to alter the lateral position of the slider over the rotating disk surface.

摘要: A glide head that can be used to certify disks of hard disk drives. The glide head includes a heater that can change the temperature of a slider surface of the head and vary the head flying height. The slider surface may induce the negative pressure so that the glide head more accurately simulates a head used in a production disk drive. A piezoelectric transducer may be coupled to the glide head so that contact between the head and a disk may be sensed and recorded in a disk certification routine.

摘要: This invention stems from knowing that a head gimbal assembly has twice as much of its mass centered on its base plate as it has on its slider performs better in terms of resilience to mechanical shock than one with twice as much mass on the slider as on its base plate. The inventors realized that while these two configurations in normal operation are almost identical, during the impulse and after shocks, the slider with the smaller ratio of mass to the base plate performs better. The invention includes manufacturing methods for the head gimbal assembly, the head stack assembly, and the hard disk drive, as well as these items as products of their respective manufacturing processes.

摘要: An implantable medical device for optically sensing action potential signals in excitable body tissue. The device includes an elongated tubular lead body carrying an optical fiber extending from a proximal lead end to a distal lead end to position the optical fiber at a target site. The lead body additionally carries a conduit for dispensing a voltage-sensitive fluorescent dye into tissue surrounding the target site. The optical fiber transmits excitation light to the fluorescent dye to cause the dye to fluoresce with varying intensity as the transmembrane potentials of local tissue cells vary due to passing depolarization wavefronts. The optical fiber transmits the fluorescence signal to the device to generate an action potential signal or fiducial points of an action potential signal for use in accurately measuring and characterizing electrical activity of excitable tissue.
