The controller executes a deactivation process that deactivates combustion control in a specified one of cylinders. A compensation process operates a power generation device that produces driving torque applied to a driven wheel so as to compensate for insufficiency of the driving torque of a vehicle caused by the deactivation process. A prohibition process prohibits the deactivation process when it is determined that compensation by a predetermined amount or larger by the compensation process cannot be performed.

    摘要: A controller for an internal combustion engine, a control method for an internal combustion engine, and a memory medium are provided. The controller determines whether an execution request of a temperature-increasing process for an aftertreatment device for exhaust gas has been issued. When the execution request is determined as having been issued, supply of fuel by a fuel injection valve corresponding to a specified cylinder is deactivated. The specified cylinder is one of cylinders. An air-fuel ratio of air-fuel mixture in a cylinder of the cylinders that differs from the specified cylinder is set to be richer than a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. When the temperature-increasing process is executed, an adjustment device is operated so as to reduce the fuel concentration in an intake port connected to the specified cylinder.

The controller restricts the recirculation amount of the exhaust gas under the same load in the case where the electric power output device outputs the electric power to the outside of the vehicle in comparison with a case where the electric power output device does not output the electric power to the outside of the vehicle.

When the rotational fluctuation ΔNEmg1 is equal to or larger than the second threshold NEref2, it is determined that the rotational fluctuation ΔNEeng of the engine has reached a value equal to or larger than a threshold NEref due to a disturbance such as running on a bad road or the like, and a misfire counter is maintained. When the rotational fluctuation ΔNEmg1 is smaller than the second threshold NEref2, it is determined that a misfire may be occurring in at least one of cylinders of the engine, and the misfire counter is incremented.

    摘要: An ECU performs a failure diagnosis for a thermostat valve after starting of an engine based on an output of an engine-side coolant water temperature sensor and an output of a radiator-side coolant water temperature sensor. When an electric pump operates in accordance with a heating request or the like of an air-conditioning device during stopping of the engine, the thermostat valve attains a closed state. When the electric pump operates during stopping of the engine before the current starting of the engine, starting of the failure diagnosis performed after starting of the engine is delayed as compared to the case where the electric pump does not operate during stopping of the engine. Consequently, erroneous determination can be suppressed in the failure diagnosis for the thermostat valve.
