A method for manufacturing a color filter which comprises holding an electroconductor and a tetragonal substrate having an electroconductive transparent thin layer on its surface in an electrodeposition bath in such a way that they are spaced apart and in parallel to each other, the substrate being suspended in an inclined state in a manner such that one of the apexes of the tetragonal substrate is located lower than any of its other apexes; carrying out electrodeposition in the electrodeposition bath; and removing the electrodeposited substrate from the electrodeposition bath while maintaining the inclined state; and which permits prompt removal of the bath adhering to the electrodeposited substrate to improve productivity.

A multi-color filter without a so-called bipolar phenomenon for use of color liquid crystal display devices is prepared by such a manner that plural sets of electroconductive circuits are prepared on transparent substrate; a given set of circuits on which a first color layer is to be formed is provided with a feeder circuit traversely in one lot; and the first electrodeposition is conducted by applying a current only to this set of circuits in order to impress a given voltage while voltage is increased gradually to a given level over a certain period of time, thereby forming the first color layer, and the electrodeposition is repeated in the similar way by applying current to each of the remaining sets of circuits.

Color layers of a color filter obtained by exposing a transparent substrate to light from the back side followed by development may have a defect of layer unflatness produced due to unevenness caused by contamination with foreign matters. The defect can be repaired by eliminating the defective part of the color layers to produce a blank there, optionally filling the blank with a negative photosensitive composition containing a black colorant and returning the thus modified color filter to an appropriate step in the production line. The color filter repaired is used to fablicate multi-color display devices which are by no means inferior in display qualities to those fablicated using a color filter having no defect originally.

The wireless relay device forms a wireless area for performing wireless communication. The moving-object-mounted terminal is mounted to a moving object within the wireless area. The moving-object-mounted terminal includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) unit and a wireless unit. The GPS unit acquires positional data of the moving object and time data indicating the time when the positional data has been acquired by GPS. The wireless unit converts the positional data and the time data into a wireless signal, and transmits the wireless signal to the wireless relay device. The data processor receives the wireless signal from the moving-object-mounted terminal via the wireless relay device, and calculates time required for the moving object to move a predetermined distance within the wireless area based on the positional data and the time data.

As a result, the length of the protection sleeve which covers the fusion spliced portion so that the fusion spliced portion is positioned at the middle can be set with reference to an end portion of the optical connector ferrule. Therefore, the protection sleeve can be shortened, and compactification of the optical connector can be realized.
