Abstract:
DIMERCAPTANS OF CYCLOADDED DIMERS OF A MERCAPTONORBORNENE, MERCAPTO-CYCLOHEXENE OR MERCAPTOBICYCLO (2.2.2) OCTENE ARE DISCLOSED. THEY ARE USEFUL IN THE PRODUCTION OF POLYMER AND AS EPOXY CURING AGENTS.
Abstract:
A LIQUID PHASE OXIDATION REACTION WHEREBY A CYCLIC AMINE HAVING AN UNSUBSTITUTED METHYLENE MOIETY ADJACENT TO THE RING NITROGEN IS CONVERTED TO THE CORRESPONDING LACTAM BY REACTING THE AMINE WITH A HYDROPEROXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF A METAL ION CATALYST.
WHEREIN R and R'' may be alike or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and chlorine; and where X, Y, Z and Q may be alike or different and are selected from the group consisting of keto, and alkylene containing one to six carbon atoms.
Abstract:
A process for the synthesis of Alpha -hydroxy esters of carboxylic acids by reacting a carboxylic acid ester with a hydroperoxide in the presence of a metal ion catalyst. The reaction is characterized by mild reaction conditions and good efficiency. The Alpha -hydroxy esters are useful intermediates in the production of acrylates.
Abstract:
Compositions of amine derivatives of acrylated epoxidized soybean oil, which are the reaction products of an organic amine with the reaction product of epoxidized soybean oil with acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, and an acrylyl compound are useful as coatings and inks; photosensitizers and/or pigments can optionally be present. The compositions can be cured by radiation.
Abstract:
The amine derivatives of acrylated epoxidized soybean oil, which is the reaction product of epoxidized soybean oil with acrylic acid or methacrylic acid are produced by the reaction of acrylated epoxidized soybean oil with an organic amine. They are useful alone, or in conjunction with a photosensitizer, and/or a pigment as inks and coatings. The compositions can be cured by radiation.
