Abstract: A catalyst is provided for hydrodeoxygenation and hydroisomerization of paraffins having higher activity. The catalyst contains a molecular sieve, such as SAPO-11, a metal component such as platinum and/or palladium or nickel tungsten sulfide or nickel molybdenum sulfide and a binder such as gamma alumina. The catalyst exhibits a high proportion of weak acid sites and a relatively equal distribution of the metal component on the molecular sieve and the binder.

Abstract: Processes and apparatuses for activating a dehydrogenation catalyst that include gallium on a support. An additive particle comprising platinum is mixed with the catalyst particles, which may be fresh or deactivated catalyst. The mixture is exposed, in an oxygen containing environment, to a temperature between 650° C. and 1,000° C. The additive particles may be fluidized with the catalyst particles and may active the catalyst in a regenerator.

Abstract: A hydroprocessing catalyst with improved performance has been produced that involves an intimately mixed unsupported metal oxide with a zeolite or other acid function. The intimate mixing allows an intimate interaction between the unsupported metal oxide and the acid function. The hydroprocessing catalyst may be used alone or may be incorporated with a portion of a conventional hydrocracking catalyst.

Abstract: A catalyst composition and its use as a dehydrogenation catalyst to increase normal olefin selectivity and reduce undesirable aromatic selectivity. The reduction in aromatic production allows for the elimination of a unit to remove aromatic compounds. The catalyst has a layered composition comprising an inner core, an outer layer bonded to the inner core, the outer layer comprising one or more transition alumina with at least two diffraction angle peaks between 32.0° and 70.0° 2θ, wherein a first diffraction angle peak in that range is at 32.7±0.4° 2θ, a second diffraction angle peak is at 50.8±0.4° 2θ, and having a thickness of less than about 100 microns and having uniformly dispersed thereon said platinum catalyst and at least one promoter metal and having a concentration of the platinum catalyst of from about 0.00006 to 0.0005 gram of the platinum group metal on an elemental basis per meter square surface area of the outer layer.

Abstract: A fluidized catalytic reactor decouples the catalyst regenerator temperature from the catalyst reactor residence time. Regenerated catalyst is cooled before it contacts reactant feed. The regenerated catalyst may be cooled by heat exchange with oxygen supply gas, spent catalyst or other materials. The process and apparatus are especially useful for fluidized endothermic catalytic reactions.

The catalytic composition is prepared without addition of tin, gallium, indium, germanium or lead.
