摘要： An article of manufacture pattern for improving aerodynamic performance of a turbine including an abradable material capable of abradable contact. The abradable material is disposed in a pattern. The pattern includes a first plurality of ridges disposed at a base surface of the turbine. Each ridge of the first plurality of ridges has a first sidewall and a second sidewall having a first end and a second end. The first ends of the first and second sidewalls extend from the base surface. The first and second sidewalls slope toward each other with substantially equal but opposite slopes until meeting at the second ends of respective first and second sidewalls defining a centerline and a top portion of the ridge.

摘要： A pattern for improving aerodynamic performance of a turbine includes a material disposed in a pattern at a base surface of a turbine shroud such that the material is capable of abradable contact with a tip portion of a turbine bucket. The pattern includes a first plurality of ridges disposed at the base surface such that a first portion of the first plurality of ridges corresponding to a back portion of the turbine bucket is oriented at a first angle with respect to an axis of rotation of the turbine bucket. Each ridge of the first plurality of ridges has a first sidewall and a second sidewall having a first end and a second end. The first ends of the first and second sidewalls extend from the base surface. The first and second sidewalls slope toward each other with substantially equal but opposite slopes until meeting at the second ends of respective first and second sidewalls defining a centerline and a top portion of the ridge.

摘要： The invention relates to a device that is always open for the pressure medium for reducing pressure pulsations and that can be switched between a pressure chamber of a slave cylinder and a pressure chamber of a master cylinder of a hydraulic force transmission system for motor vehicles. The device has an additional line section in the form of a channel having an opening on the slave cylinder side, an opening on the master cylinder side, and a channel length equaling a multiple of the direct distance between the two openings, and a volume receiver that can be elastically deformed under pressure, wherein the channel and the volume receiver are combined into an assembly in a housing. The result according to the invention is a device that not only has very good vibration dampening properties, but is also very compact and has a cost-effective design.

摘要： A slave cylinder (50) for a vibration-damped hydraulic force transmission system, particularly a hydraulic clutch actuating system for motor vehicles is disclosed, comprising a cylinder housing (52), a piston (56) received therein to be longitudinally displaceable and a pressure chamber (60) which is bounded by the cylinder housing and the piston and which can be selectably acted on by a pressure medium, by way of a pressure connection (66) provided in the cylinder housing, in order to displace the piston in the cylinder housing. An insert member (68) which is inserted in the pressure chamber and secured in the pressure connection and which is equipped with a device (70) for reducing pressure pulses, the device being constantly open to the pressure medium, is additionally provided. As a result, the vibration-damping measures or means are integrated in the slave cylinder in a particularly economic and space-saving manner.

Lastly, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically acceptable amount of the compound above.

摘要： The present invention provides a novel method for treating and/or preventing thioredoxin (TRX)-mediated diseases and conditions, by administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof. The HDAC inhibitor can alter the expression of a thioredoxin-binding-protein (e.g. TBP-2), which in turn can lead to an altered TRX/thioredoxin-binding-protein cellular binding interaction, resulting in an increase or decrease in the level or activity of cellular TRX, for example the expression level or reducing activity of TRX. Thus the present invention relates to the use of HDAC inhibitors in a method of preventing and/or treating a wide variety of thioredoxin (TRX)-mediated diseases and conditions, such as inflammatory diseases, allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases, diseases associated with oxidative stress or diseases characterized by cellular hyperproliferation.

In one implementation, the invention can be characterized as an actuator control system comprising: a controller adapted to be coupled to and control an actuator including a probe moveable by the actuator about an axis in response to control signals from the controller; a user input device coupled to the controller and configured to receive inputs from a user to define an automated sequence of multiple locations of the probe and configured to cause an encoder measurement to be retrieved from the actuator; and the user input device further configured to receive a tolerance value from the user corresponding to the encoder measurement.
