    摘要: A shaped charge explosive device which includes an axially symmetric body of explosive material, a liner lining the forward end of the body, and a detonator disposed at the bottom of the body. The liner has an apex disposed along the symmetry axis of the body and the forward end of the body contains a gas filled cavity which overlaps the apex of the liner. When the detonator detonates the explosive material, a detonation wave is produced that collapses the liner into a plurality of liner parts which are projected against an external target. The gas filled cavity shapes the detonation wave so that the detonation wave impacts the liner at the most favorable angle to transfer energy to the liner and maximize the effective penetration of the external target by the projected liner parts.

    摘要: A pumping system protection device which continuously monitors the rate of flow from a pump, which provide pressurized liquid from a pump to a tank, through a check valve, such as can be used in a water well, for example, to provide water to a pressurized receiving tank. An orifice of selected small size is provided in the flow line means to the check valve and receiving tank. The purpose of this orifice is to bleed the pressure in the flow line whenever the pump stops delivering liquid. The pressure in the flow line at the point of the orifice is monitored by a pressure sensitive switch, which closes a contact when the pressure is below a selected small value. The contact controls power to the pump motor. If there is no liquid flow the contacts open, and power to the pump is cut off. If when the power switch is closed and liquid flows from the pump, the pressure sensitive switch will open its contact and leave the power switch in the closed position. When the flow stops and the pressure drops at the orifice, the pressure sensitive switch closes, which opens the power switch.

    摘要: A submersible power plant 10 comprises a submersible enclosure 12 having at least one intake valve 16 for admitting water at high pressure from the surrounding sea into and air space in the enclosure. An air shaft from the air space 96 is in communication with the atmosphere for maintaining the air space at approximately one atmosphere. A pump for evacuating water collected in the enclosure includes a buoy 62 responsive to ocean swells. A piston shaft 58 connected to the buoy reciprocates in the center bore 60 of a vertical column 52 extending upward from the bottom of the enclosure. As the piston shaft rises inflow valves 72 admit water in the enclosure into a valve housing 70 in communication with the center bore. As the piston shaft falls water is discharged from the valve housing into the sea through a discharge valve 80 in the bottom of the enclosure.

    摘要: The Celltrekker is a kit that eliminates the sometimes cumbersome and restrictive access afforded by current cellular telephone (or similar sized object) conveyances or holders. Other holders contain clips, buckles, pockets, snaps, pouches, or other types of fasteners which may require the user to manipulate said fasteners in order to gain access to the cellular telephone or similar sized object. Using the Celltrekker as designed, the user may access the cellular telephone or similar sized object by simply grasping it and pulling it away from the belt-mounted (or otherwise mounted) patch of “loops”. The user may re-attach the cellular phone or similar sized object to the holder by simply pressing the “hooks”—equipped object to the holder containing the “loops”. Celltrekker, as designed, provides unfettered access and can be adapted to fit any flat-sided or slightly curved surface, keeping obvious parameters in mind. Using the included patch of “loops” the user may create “parking spaces”, which are specific places where the user deems desirable to be able to deposit or secure the cellular telephone or similar sized object.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for selectively altering the jet pattern producedy a shaped charge round upon detonation by selectively providing confinement mass(es) on the surface of an outer casing of the round. Confinement mass(es) may be provided to induce a tamping effect upon detonation of the round. The placement of the confinement mass(es) relative to one another and to the round may produce different resulting jet patterns upon detonation. The mass(es) may be movable or removable such that the round may be configured to produce different jet patterns in the field or prior to targeting. Coherent or diffused jet patterns may be utilized, for example to penetrate armor of differing thicknesses or to alter the damage area created by the round.

    摘要: A degassing valve in a flexible container is disclosed. The valve includes a generally flat valve seat on a truncated generally dome shaped structure, and the valve seat is raised a height above the valve chamber base surface. A resilient, non-perforated, non-spring-biased diaphragm is inter-engaged upon the valve seat and overlaps the valve seat outer periphery. The valve seat engages a central area of the diaphragm that is not proximate the perimeter of the diaphragm, and the dome shaped structure has a sectional radius greater than the diaphragm radius. A well is recessed into the valve seat in a direction away from the diaphragm by a depth less than the height of the valve seat above the valve chamber base surface.
