This cell is achieved by addition of an inorganic oxide fine powder which is not an active material and is accommodated together with electric energy generating elements within the casing made from a laminated material composed of a metal foil and a resin film. A polypropylene layer is disposed inside the casing and is bonded on the inner surface of the metal foil through a carboxylic acid-denatured polypropylene layer.

The invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte cell having a high working voltage in a low temperature range of 0° C. or below and thereby attaining excellent low temperature discharge characteristics, a reduced internally-generated gas, and an excellent safety against heat. This is achieved by a cell comprising a non-aqueous electrolyte containing propylene carbonate and LiN(SO2C2F5)2 as an electrolyte salt, a graphite negative electrode, and a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material comprising a Ti-attached LiCoO2 in which a particle of titanium and/or titanium compound is attached on a surface of a particle of lithium cobalt oxide and a mole ratio of titanium and/or titanium compound in the Ti-attached LiCoO2 is within the range of from 0.00001 to 0.02.

A quick and simple manufacturing method for a current collector single body sheet-like composite positive electrode of superior electrode performance includes a positive electrode mixture generating process mixing non-aqueous solvent, polymer material, electrolyte salt, positive electrode active material and electrically conductive material, a positive electrode mixture pressing out process after the mixture has been applied onto the positive electrode current collector and a process for hardening the sheet-like electrode, at a same time attaching the sheet-like electrode to the positive electrode current collector using heat or ionizing radiation to polymerize the polymer material distributed in the mixture. An efficient manufacturing method for a polymer solid electrolyte cell of superior cell capacity and cell characteristics which uses said composite positive electrode additionally includes a process for arranging a polymer solid electrolyte precursor on a negative electrode, a process for arranging a current collector single body composite positive electrode on the electrolyte precursor on the surface of the negative electrode so that the positive and negative electrodes face each other with electrolyte precursor in-between, and a process for hardening the electrolyte precursor to form a polymer solid electrolyte film, at a same time attaching said film to the positive electrode by using heat or ionizing radiation to polymerize the polymer solid electrolyte precursor.

The sealed cell has an electrode assembly composed of a positive electrode having a current-collecting tab and a negative electrode having a current-collecting tab. The electrode assembly is housed in a film outer casing formed of laminate films each of a metal layer and a resin layer, and the laminate films is heat-sealed into a form of a container. The outer casing has a tab-protruding sealed portion formed by heat-sealing while sandwiching the positive and negative current-collecting tabs with the tips of thereof protruding outside the outer casing. A heat-sealable insulating sheet is heat-sealed onto one of cross sections of the laminate films constituting an end surface of the outer casing, whereby the one of the cross sections is covered with the heat-sealable insulating sheet.
