Disclosed is an improvement of a method for erasing a radiation image remaining in a stimulable phosphor sheet which has stored a radiation image and has been irradiated with stimulating rays to read the radiation image. The improvement comprises a first erasing step of irradiating the phosphor sheet with a first erasing light containing a light portion of wavelength in ultraviolet region; and a second erasing step of irradiating the phosphor sheet with a second erasing light containing no light portion of wavelength in ultraviolet region, said second erasing light and said first erasing light being employed in a ratio of amount of light in the range of 15/85 to 45/55. Devices for erasing radiation image appropriately employable in the above-mentioned method are also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a serum or plasma separating material including a moisture curing component having a specific gravity of from 1.03 to 1.09, and a blood collection tube including the serum or plasma separating material. The present invention provides a serum or plasma separating material which is allowed to be present in a cured state between serum or plasma and a blood cell-containing component obtained after centrifugal separation when separating the serum or plasma component in a collection tube, exhibits a good storage stability capable of keeping the serum or the like and the cell-containing component in a separated state in the collection tube for a long period of time, is excellent in stability upon freezing or thawing and upon handling of a sample, and can be cured without need of irradiation with ultraviolet ray or the like, as well as a method of separating serum or plasma using the separating material.

The present invention relates to a method of separating serum or plasma which includes the steps of disposing a serum or plasma separating material in a blood collection tube; collecting blood in the collection tube; and subjecting the collection tube filled with the blood to centrifugal separation, wherein the serum or plasma separating material includes a curing component, and curing of the curing component is initiated by the centrifugal separation. According to the present invention, there is provided a method of separating serum or plasma in which upon separating the serum or plasma in a collection tube, a serum or plasma separating material is allowed to be present therein in a stable state before centrifugal separation even when contacted with blood, and in a cured state between the serum or the like and a cell-containing component after the centrifugal separation; the serum or the like and the cell-containing component can be stored in a separated state in the collection tube with a good storage stability for a long period of time, and further are excellent in stability upon freezing or thawing and upon handling of the sample; and the separating material can be cured without need of irradiation with ultraviolet ray or the like.

The release piece extends from its base end along cartridge inserting and unloading directions. The release piece escapes from the lock slide by being deflected outward for deformation by contact with the lock slide when the slide is moved with the descent of the holder, and restores itself elastically upon passage of the lock slide. The lock slide as brought into contact with the lower end of the release piece when the holder is pivotally raised from the lowered position is disengaged from the holder by being so deflected for deformation.
