    摘要: A negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention includes a current collector and an active material layer carried on the current collector. The active material layer contains silicon and oxygen. In the thickness direction of the active material layer, an oxygen ratio of the active material is greater at the side of the active material layer in contact with the current collector than at the side of the active material layer not in contact with the current collector. The active material layer contains no binder. By using the negative electrode described above, it is possible to provide a high capacity lithium ion secondary battery having superior high rate charge/discharge characteristics and excellent cycle characteristics.

    摘要: A negative electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, including: an active material layer capable of electrochemically absorbing and desorbing at least Li; and a current collector sheet that supports the active material layer thereon and that does not react with Li, wherein the active material layer includes a plurality of deposited films or sintered films supported on a surface of the current collector sheet, and each of the deposited films or sintered films is provided with at least one groove formed in a side surface thereof, the groove extending from a top surface side towards the current collector sheet side thereof. It is preferable that the plurality of deposited films or sintered films are arranged in a grid configuration, a staggered grid configuration or a honeycomb configuration on a surface of the current collector sheet. It is preferable that, in a discharged state, the plurality of deposited films or sintered films have an average height of not less than 1 μm and not more than 30 μm.

The negative electrode is formed by cutting a negative electrode original sheet to a predetermined width. The negative electrode has cutting roll over portions (21D) at cut ends thereof. The cutting roll over portions (21D) are formed by stretching the negative electrode current collector (21A) upwardly or downwardly in the thickness direction of the negative electrode, and are oriented toward an inner side of an electrode group (31).
