摘要: A FFS semi-transmissive LCD comprises a first substrate and pixel matrix. The pixel matrix is disposed on the first substrate and comprises a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit comprises a counter electrode, pixel electrode layer, reflection layer and liquid-crystal disposition layer. The counter electrode is disposed on the first substrate. The pixel electrode layer is disposed above the counter electrode. The reflection layer is disposed between the first substrate and pixel electrode layer. The reflection layer is smaller than the counter electrode in area. The liquid-crystal disposition layer is disposed on the pixel electrode layer and comprises a transparent material layer. The transparent material layer is smaller than the liquid-crystal disposition layer in thickness and has substantially the same shape and area as the reflection layer, and the transparent material layer and the reflection layer are face-to-face disposed at two opposite sides of the pixel electrode layer.

摘要: A transflective liquid crystal display device includes a first and a second substrates, a liquid crystal layer, and a plurality of reflective electrodes and transparent electrodes. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and the second substrates and functions in an OCB mode. 摘要: A multi-domain transflective liquid crystal display includes a plurality of picture elements each having a reflective region and a transmissive region. The reflective region and the transmissive region both have a plurality of orientation-divided domains with liquid crystal molecules in an individual domain having substantially the same orientation direction, and an azimuth difference of substantial 45 degrees exists between the distribution of the orientation directions of liquid crystal molecules in the reflective region and that in the transmissive region.

摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) and a liquid crystal panel thereof are provided. The LCD includes a backlight module and the liquid crystal panel disposed thereon. The liquid crystal panel has a first substrate, a second substrate, and a positive liquid crystal layer. The first substrate has a plurality of pixel electrodes, and each pixel electrode has a plurality of first strip-shape portions. The second substrate has a common electrode, and the common electrode has a plurality of second strip-shape portions. The positive liquid crystal layer is interposed between the pixel electrodes of the first substrate and the common electrode of the second substrate and is vertically aligned. The corresponding areas of the first and the second strip-shape portions are staggered.

A first dielectric layer is formed on the second substrate and covers first signal lines, and a second dielectric layer is formed on the first dielectric layer and covers second signal lines. A plurality of pixel electrodes are formed on the second dielectric layer, and a plurality of second common electrodes are formed on the second substrate, where a voltage difference existing between the second common electrodes and the pixel electrode produces fringe fields.

摘要: A multi-domain liquid crystal display includes a plurality of picture elements arranged in an array of rows and columns and controlled by a line inversion drive scheme. Each picture element has a pixel electrode and at least one control electrode insulated from each other. All the control electrodes in the same row or the same column of picture elements are connected to the same signal source to provide a voltage difference between the control electrodes and the pixel electrodes in the same row or the same column of picture elements to produce fringe fields.
