摘要: A pneumatic demultiplexer that allows a person with a disability to control multiple assistive technology devices by the use of a single sip-and-puff tube. The devices to be controlled are operated by a single pneumatic or electrical switch input. The pneumatic demultiplexer is under the control of a microprocessor. In a scan stage the user selects the target device via scrolling LED indicators. When a specific device is chosen, the corresponding solenoid valve is activated to connect the input sip-and-puff port to the pneumatic output port. In the activation stage, the input sip-and-puff tube controls the target device directly via the pneumatic demultiplexer. The microprocessor monitors the line activity via a sip-or-puff switch. A watchdog timer is implemented by the microprocessor. After there is a lack of activity for preprogrammed time period, the system switches from the activation stage back to the scan stage.

摘要: An administrator of an enterprise storage set may be tasked with storing a large number and variety of data sets on a large number and variety of storage components. However, the manual selection of a physical schema by an administrator may be time-consuming, may generate inefficient physical schemata, and may not be easily reevaluated as the data sets and storage set change. Presented herein are techniques for automatically determining a physical schema by comparing the storage factors of each data set (e.g., data size, relationships with other data sets, and usages of the data set by users) with the storage capabilities of the storage components, selecting a suitable storage component, and implementing the storage of the data set on the storage component. An embodiment of these techniques may thereby achieve an automated identification of a physical schema with improved efficiency and flexibility of the physical schema while conserving administrative resources.

摘要: This invention is concerned with a method and apparatus for measuring and controlling the quality of physiological acoustic signals, which include tracheal breathing sounds, lung sounds, heart sounds, blood flow sounds, joint sounds, and gastrointestinal sounds. The interface between the skin and the device is carefully controlled to achieve a desirable acoustic coupling. A pneumatic feedback control system automatically adjusts of the pressure applied to the skin; another pneumatic control system adjusts the pressure inside an airtight chamber for housing the acoustic sensor. A processor assesses the signal qualities, such as amplitude and frequency spectrum, and provides feedback controls to the interface if needed. The resulting method and apparatus eliminates operator's variability and acquires physiological acoustic signals with consistent and desirable qualities for various medical diagnostic purposes.

摘要: A method and system for transferring user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system are disclosed. According to the method, a source core (CN) network determines to transfer a UE that it serves and sends a transfer instruction carrying UE transfer restriction information to the UE; an access network receives a transfer request that is sent by the UE according to the restriction information carried in the transfer instruction; the access network selects a target CN entity that is different from the source CN entity for the UE; and the UE is transferred to the target CN entity. The method and system provided by the present invention are applicable to user transferring between CN entities in any communication network. The transferring is initiated by a network side entity, and a more preferable CN entity is selected for the UE to provide a better service.

摘要: Various schedulers are disclosed for use within a network node of a radio access network. A scheduler can be configured to divide a defined frequency bandwidth into a plurality of bandwidth pipes. The scheduler then develops sets of nodes that are candidates for using corresponding ones of the bandwidth pipes to communicate with the network node during a communication time interval. At least one of the sets contains a plurality of candidate nodes. The scheduler operates separate parallel processes that are arranged for computing metrics for the sets of nodes. The scheduler assigns one of the nodes in each set of nodes to the corresponding bandwidth pipe in response to the computed metrics. The scheduler may divide the defined frequency bandwidth into a plurality of non-overlapping bandwidth pipes so that metrics for candidate nodes in one of the sets can be computed independently from candidate nodes in another one of the sets.

摘要: A machine tool is provided with a tool magazine including a guiding plate, a turntable and holders. The guiding plate includes an annular groove with a semi-circular section and a semi-oval section. The semi-circular section is defined by a radius. The semi-oval section is defined by a semi-major axis identical to the radius of the semi-circular section and a semi-minor axis shorter than the semi-major axis. The turntable includes claws extending from the periphery. Each of the holders is pivotally connected to a related one of the claws and includes an end for holding a tool and another end formed with a ball movably located in the annular groove. Thus, some of the holders of which the balls are located in the semi-circular section of the annular groove close while the other holders of which the balls are located in the semi-oval section of the annular groove open.
