摘要: Gas generating pellets for an air bag system causes the initial inflating speed of the air bag to be increased at a reduced rate to prevent a passenger from being injured due to vigorous inflation of the air bag in the initial period, while maintaining sufficient ability to restrict the passenger after 35 to 50 milliseconds from the start of the inflation. Combustion of the gas generating pellets for an air bag system are controlled such that in a tank test conducted with respect to a gas generator using the pellets, where a desired maximum tank pressure is P (kPa), and a period of time from the start of rising of the tank pressure to the time when the maximum tank pressure P (kPa) is reached is T milliseconds, the tank pressure measured after 0.25×T milliseconds is not higher than 0.20×P (kPa), and the tank pressure measured after 0.80×T milliseconds is not lower than 0.70×P (kPa). In particular, the gas generating pellets may be formed of a non-azide gas generating composition, and each pellet may be formed with a length of L (mm) and a hole having an inside diameter d(mm) of 0.2 to 1.5 (mm), such that the ratio L/d is 3.0 or larger.

摘要: A method of the invention produces a porous film by casting a polymer solution containing a polymer onto a substrate to form a film, and subjecting the film to phase conversion to thereby form a porous film. In the method, the polymer constituting the porous film has a surface tension Sa [mN/m], the substrate has a surface tension Sb [mN/m], and Sa and Sb satisfy the following condition: Sa−Sb≧−10. This method can produce a porous film having a high rate of hole area at its surfaces and having homogenous micropores from the surfaces to the core thereof. A porous film of the invention is a porous film having a large number of continuous micropores. The film has a thickness of 5 to 200 μm, has an average surface pore size A of 0.01 to 10 μm and an average rate of surface hole area C and has an average inside pore size B and an average rate of inside hole area D inside thereof, in which the ratio A/B of A to B is 0.3 to 3, and the ratio C/D of C to D is 0.7 to 1.5.

摘要: A gas generating composition for use in a pretensioner, which generates less CO gases and chlorine-containing gases after combustion and is superior in thermal stability and in producing and processing, is obtained. The gas generating composition for use in a pretensioner comprises a highly thermal stabilized binder, an oxidizing agent, and, if required, a chlorine-neutralizing agent as major ingredients. The gas generating composition can improve thermal stability of a gas generating agent, can reduce the amount of CO gases, is excellent in producing and processing, and can reduce chlorine-containing gases if required.
