    摘要: A valve train for an internal combustion engine includes a mounting member mounted on a cylinder head, and a pair of elongated rocker arms interposed between a camshaft and the mounting member. Each rocker arm has opposite first and second sides facing a camshaft and the mounting member, respectively. The rocker arm has opposite ends held respectively against the camshaft and a respective one of intake and exhaust valves at the first side of the rocker arm. A pair of hydraulic tappets are mounted on the mounting member. Each hydraulic tappet includes an axially-extensible elongated body, and a tubular boot of an elastic material mounted around the body to form an oil reservoir therebetween. Each hydraulic tappet has one end held against the second side of a respective one of the rocker arms intermediate the opposite ends of the rocker arm, and the other end of the hydraulic tappet is held by the mounting the against movement away from the rocker arm, whereby upon rotation of the camshaft, each rocker arm is pivotally moved about the one end of the hydraulic tappet for moving a respective one of the intake and exhaust valves.

An annular diaphragm extending between the cylinder and the plunger as a reservoir. A passage provides communication between the reservoir and the hydraulic chamber with a check valve preventing flow from the hydraulic chamber to the reservoir. A passageway extends axially through the plunger and is closed off by means of a soft plug in an area of greater diameter intermediate the ends of the passageway. Retainers hold the annular diaphragm in place with the retainer associated with the plunger extending inwardly to the plunger within the diaphragm to conserve on axial length of the mechanism.

    摘要: Rocker arm clearance removing device wherein a hydraulic adjuster applies torque to a pressure bearing surface at right angles thereto on a curved outwardly extending pressure bearing arm of an eccentric cam which eccentrically supports the rocker arm. Rotation of the rocker arm resulting from the torque causes the rocker arm to come into pressure contact with a valve operating cam and an intake or exhaust valve. An engaging piece can be provided radially extending from the eccentric cam circumferentially spaced from the pressure bearing arm for engaging a swivel stop on the case of the hydraulic adjuster to limit swinging of the eccentric cam and rocker arm during assembly. An arm stopper can also be provided on the case of the hydraulic adjuster to prevent swinging of cam and rocker arm in the opposite direction during assembly.

    摘要: An exhaust gas cleaning device of an internal combustion engine, comprising a secondary-air supply system connected to exhaust ports to supply the secondary air for cooling the exhaust gas, and reed valve devices installed in the secondary-air supply system and adapted to be opened and closed by the pulsating pressure generated in the exhaust ports when the engine is in operation. The reed valve devices are mounted on the side surface of the cylinder block, each of which has a reed valve chamber and a reed valve that divides the reed valve chamber into an upstream chamber and a downstream chamber and that is adapted to be opened and closed by the pulsating exhaust gas. The upstream chamber is communicated with the open air via a secondary-air intake pipe, and the downstream chamber is connected to the exhaust port via a secondary-air supply passage. The exhaust gas cleaning device is simply constructed so that its maintenance is easy and the presence of the device does not hinder maintenance operation for the internal combustion engine such as replacement of spark plugs, adjustment of tappets, and the like.

This control valve is a pressure control valve to adjust the pressure of hydrogen to be supplied. The hydrogen supply valve is operated by an apparatus of the type capable of adjusting the lift and the valve timing. In this engine, the hydrogen to be supplied to the combustion chamber is controlled on the basis of control signals corresponding to load conditions by both the pressure control valve and the hydrogen supply valve under at least one of either the low-load condition or the high-load condition, and substantially only by the pressure control valve under an intermediate-load condition.

    摘要: In an exhaust gas cleaning system wherein secondary air is supplied into the exhaust passage to re-burn the unburnt harmful component in the exhaust gases, a secondary air controlling apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. At deceleration of the vehicle, secondary air is interrupted from being fed into the exhaust passage, and is introduced into the intake passage to prevent after-burning in the exhaust cleaning system. When the ignition key is switched off, secondary air is fed into the intake passage to prevent the unburnt gas from flowing out into the exhaust passage. This effect is attained by using a valve operated in response to the negative pressure in the intake pipe to protect the exhaust gases cleaning system and to clean the exhaust gases.

    摘要: Herein disclosed is a secondary air supply control device for use with an apparatus for purifying an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. In the exhaust gas purifying apparatus, a secondary air supply system is made to communicate with the exhaust system of the internal combustion engine so that secondary air may be supplied during the running operation of the internal combustion engine to said exhaust system thereby to oxidize and clear the unburned noxious content of said exhaust system. The secondary air supply control device comprises a vacuum-operated secondary air control valve which is disposed midway of said secondary air supply system for controlling the flow rate of the secondary air to be supplied to said exhaust system; and means for controlling said vacuum-operated secondary air control valve during the deceleration and the choking operation at the start of said engine so that the supply of the secondary air to said exhaust system is interrupted.
