The variable valve actuation mechanism includes: a cam placed inside the head cover and rotating with a camshaft extending in a rotation axis direction; and an intermediate arm placed inside the head cover and sandwiched between the cam and a rocker arm. A pair of side through-holes, which are provided for a support rod supporting the intermediate arm to pass through, are formed in side portions of the head cover so as to face each other along the rotation axis direction.

摘要： The present invention can achieve a variable valve mechanism having a simple and compact configuration. A variable valve mechanism changes an opening/closing timing of an intake valve or an exhaust valve in response to an engine rotation speed. The variable valve mechanism includes: a cam sprocket which rotates in response to a rotation of a crank shaft; an intake cam shaft which is integrated with an intake cam; an exhaust cam shaft which is integrated with an exhaust cam; and a governor flange that transmits a rotation of the cam sprocket to the intake cam shaft and the exhaust cam shaft. The intake cam shaft and the exhaust cam shaft are formed so that the other cam shaft is inserted through one cam shaft to be relatively rotatable. The governor flange is provided to rotate along with the intake cam shaft and rotates relative to the cam sprocket under a predetermined condition.

摘要： An engine power unit includes a crankcase, a cylinder body, and a cylinder head sequentially stacked and fastened with each other. A cam shaft holder is fastened to the cylinder head to rotatably support a cam shaft of an engine valve operating mechanism. A cylinder head cover covers the cylinder head and the cam shaft holder. Fastening bolts penetrate the cylinder head cover and the cam shaft holder to be screwed into the cylinder head. Pressing surfaces are formed on the inner surface of the cylinder head cover. The pressing surfaces are abutted against and press the cam shaft holder to the cylinder head. Thus, rigidity around the cylinder head is enhanced, and a weight reduction of the power unit is achieved.

摘要： A rocker arm assembly for a valvetrain having a valve, a lash adjuster, and a camshaft lobe. The rocker arm assembly includes a shaft, a bearing rotatably supported by the shaft for engaging the lobe, and a rocker arm. The rocker arm has a pad for engaging the valve, and a socket for engaging the lash adjuster. A pair of walls are disposed between the pad and socket and define a valley for accommodating the shaft. A pair of upwardly-opening arc-shaped bearing surfaces are disposed longitudinally between the pad and the socket and are spaced laterally from each other. The bearing surfaces rotatably support the shaft when the bearing engages the lobe. A pair of retention elements extend from the walls into the valley above the bearing surfaces such that the shaft is prevented from moving out of the valley in absence of engagement between the bearing and the lobe.

Phaser positioning control is improved by reducing inaccuracies resulting from inadvertent spool valve and/or phaser movement when the spool valve is commanded between regions. In addition, improved spool valve mapping is used to render phaser commands more consistent and robust.
